Great open space leading away from the Royal Palace area that is popular with families and young people for picnics, playing and of course, public exercise classes. Go there for people watching in the early evening and for the lights and fountain display (not working when I visited later in evening around 10pm). Go in daylight if you want pictures of the socialist realist statue Cambodian-Vietnamese Friendship Memorial dedicated to the liberation of Cambodia by Vietnamese forces in 1979. There is also a golden stupa memorial to 16 demonstrators killed by a hand grenade thrown in to a crowd in more recent years. Once you have walked the length of Wat Botum away from the Palace, you can join another walk way that is also traffic free and leads to the Independence Monument.

Came here to watch the world cup 2022 fifa. It's spacious and open area with lots of space. Not much green but a little grass and that's it. It's a good skating ground as it's spacious and have ceramic tiles around. Some people come here to have picnic on the few grass that's here because it's an open area with nice view and wind, being near riverside.

Absolutely beautiful wat. Friendly people, even let me look inside a newly constructed pair of Pagodas that wasn't open to the public yet. In one of the temples, there is a wax figure or mummy of a monk...I am thoroughly unsure about if it is actually wax or a real human being. Went there 2 times and still wasn't sure. 🤣🙈

I went to this park to meet 20 of our (Cambodian Children’s Fund) nursery kids - all 3 years and under - and it was so fun. First time outside Steung Meanchey (for the toddlers, not me).

A park close to the Grand Palace. Great place for family and to take a stroll. Plenty of pigeons and people selling feed for the birds. Mind the poop when they fly over ur head ya.

There was a concert in the evening. Nice to chill by the fountain. Need seats under trees for very hot weather.
