The monument in the center of this roundabout honors the late Buddhist scholar Samdech Chuon Nath.
It is bordered by Samdech Hun Sen Park and Samdech Chea Sim Garden. Enjoy the view during the day and twilight.
There are some lovely personal accounts in a 2008 article by English Cambodia Daily: “He was the first monk in Cambodia’s history to be a Khmer language scholar...who could speak many languages.”
