We called the hotel one day before we arrived to let them know our early arrival time (to leave luggage). But when we arrived next day at 6 in the morning, the hotel was black out and chain-locked from the outside. The security guy opened the door and let us in and we saw the night receptionist was sleeping on the sofa with pillow and blanket, he seemed upset to see us. Then we requested to use bathroom (which is also very dirty and smelly) and he didn't even turn the lights on. We stayed a bit longer in the hotel because it was raining outside, and he didn't want to clear up his sleeping space for us to sit. When he realized we were going to wait until rain stops, then he cleared up the space and started to play games loudly at the reception. No greetings, no conversation at all, when we asked we can't connect to WiFi, he just gave us a STARE. ||We later then came back to hotel around noon and the room was ready (which we were grateful for), we didn't get the TWIN room we requested tho. The room was not cleaned properly, no minibar fridge, safe is with the key attached (it makes me think what the purpose of this safe is), dirty showerhead, flooded balcony, hair full of sliding door and stained wall.(see the photos below) ||Breakfast was okay but tasteless coffee. Wi Fi connection is not strong at all and the mobile data also gets slower in the room š Oh, donāt forget to bring your own adapter since they donāt have one in the entire hotel. |We didnāt use the pool at all just by the look of it. You donāt want to get itch afterwards. ||The night before leaving, my friend had an important meeting at night. She had to leave the room since the coverage is bad and she did the meeting in the lobby. Our lovely night guy was back and started to watch news loudly that she couldnāt focus and hear the meeting. So she requested him to reduce the volume for a while, which he did for a few minutes then got louder again before the meeting ended.||I would say location is great. But trust me, they got the best photoshoot on their website where expectations and reality doesnāt meet.||The highlight of this hotel is the receptionist girl who works in the afternoon shift (sorry that I didnāt get her name). She really went out of her way to help us and she knows what the hospitality is. She makes sure to greet, smile and even gave me her charger to use for that evening, asked if we need anything. The hotel should be grateful to have her. ||Overall, the stay was okay but if you want what you pay for, choose another hotel with the same price range. There are lots of hotels out there better and cleaner than here. |We wonāt come...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLocation: pretty good - even though itās on 136 street itās a few blocks away from the noise, which is perfect.Reception: almost all of the reception staff are are great and helpful in terms of arranging tuk tuks, etc. 1 girl was not particularly helpful, and seems like she needs to learn how to be more sensitive towards guest needs and customer service, and should smile more. Seems to respond with a quick āNoā regardless of the request, without even saying, āIāll check with my managerā. Rest are great and helpful. Chatted to manager about it, so hopefully she can be given some help. Restaurant - located on the rooftop. Well decked out with some interesting decor: bamboo high stool chairs, a couple of sofas, low benches and low tables for large groups. Perfect to cater for a wide variety of groups and individuals. The restaurant is open and spacious and has a high ceiling which covers the top deck. The windows can be opened for more fresh air, and the fans provide ample cooling from the Cambodian heat. Beautiful picture frames complete the decor on the walls. The top floor has much of the same except there arenāt picture frames as itās open air. The staff are the true joy of this lovely restaurant. They are extremely polite, very attentive, always welcoming and make you feel like youāre on vacation at some exotic faraway place š LolEven the kitchen staff come out and assist and if you need anything, they are always willing to assist or get help from the servers. All in all, the service is great. I joked with them that I had paid for a room with 2 adults and 2 breakfasts and my food didnāt seem enough. Without hesitation they asked if they can add anything extra to my breakfast even though I was alone š the next day without waiting for me to ask, they offered to add more bread, eggs, etc to my breakfast. A great example of anticipating and exceeding customer needs šThe pool is too small, there is some room that could be better utilised for a slightly bigger pool. Overall a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a few days in Phnom Penh then went to Vietnam and came back to Phnom Penh for another 4 nights and this is where we booked in. It is in a great position right in the middle of town hence we could nearly walk anywhere we wanted. Fantastic value for money including breakfast. The breakfast is very decent and it is a la carte.....with things like eggs bene, pancakes, asian breakfasts and you also get coffee, tea and juice. The room itself was very clean and the bed super comfortable. The previous place we had stayed the bed was hard as a rock. The rooms are decorated very nicely and the bathrooms are good too. You have dressing gowns etc, shampoo and soaps, fridge in the room, tissues and we had a balcony (not sure if all rooms have a balcony). The staff were always very helpful and super friendly. There is a small pool on the rooftop near the restaurant. There are only 4-5 lounge chairs but we always were able to get one when we wanted. It was never that crowded I guess because a lot of people are out and about during the day but it was so refreshing to have a pool when you came back from a day out sightseeing. There is also a coffee shop on the ground floor which is great just to grab a coffee when needed. We loved our stay at Lavanya Boutique Hotel and would not hesitate...
