Stayed here twice as part of a G Adventures Tour of Cambodia. Our trip started here in December 2023 and ended here in January 2024 as it was across Christmas and New Year.||The hotel is easy to find, on one of the main streets in Phnom Penh. The lobby isn't huge, but check in was fairly quick particularly as my roommate had already checked in. The lifts are also on the small side but fine for one or two people with one or two cases.||Our twin room was a good size and had enough space for two guys with suitcases. As well as the beds, there was a desk, chair, small flatscreen TV, hanging area for clothes by the door, safe and fridge. When we stayed here the second time, the other room was also very similar. The beds were comfy enough and everything was clean and tidy.||The bathroom was again small but fine. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The towels provided were good, but be warned as another of our group had issues - see below.||The included breakfast was good and staff were friendly and welcoming in the restaurant. The hotel has a small gym room you can use which has some weights and cardio equipment. The wifi had good signal strength and speed. ||On check-out after our first stay, the hotel staff checked the rooms and accused one of the other people on our tour of dirtying a towel. So the option was to pay for it and the price started quite high and dropped - our tour guide managed to sort this out and, having seen the towel, the staff were trying it on to be honest. I was also asked to hand back the second key card for the room - I explained that we'd only been given one and the staff member said that a second one had been issued. I explained that, if this had happened, it hadn't been given to me. Eventually, they accepted this. Both these issues were at the end of our first stay, but when we came back to stay again, nothing like this happened and the staff were all friendly and helpful at all other times. They were even fine with me leaving my case as I had a late flight.||Overall a good stay and a nice place to base yourself to...
Read moreThe good side: Thank you for your continuous effort in improving your hotel. Special thanks to the supervisor, I think is Mr. Vamol for his understanding for changing me the room from 5th floor to 1st floor due to malfunction of the air-conditioning. His fast respond makes me feel appreciated. Barb Lotus, the hotel restaurant is a treasure. I like the restaurant setting, the friendly staff and the food. The "Passport" idea is good. I like the effort in decorating your hotel, please keep it up. Good bed. Good TV channels for selection.
The improvement:- Front counter welcoming information - can be more detail, such as a) Barb Lotus serves breakfast until dinner, and what is their specialty. There is lunch set, is there dinner set? I know just the 50% off for cocktail during happy hour. b) People will appreciate more if you say renovation is in progress at front counter, instead just putting a note in the room. c) Your staff can spend one or two minutes to tell more about what is in "Passport". This is extra effort will impress me.
Front counter should equipped with more city knowledge, e.g. bus route.
Room a) You may need to check the room condition, e.g. air-condition before handing the access card to guest. b) Small details matter, one example: I notice the bed wheels are popping/protruding out c) You have "Pacific Hotel" on your towel, you may want to have it on other items too, e.g. pillow, mineral water, etc.? It is good for branding. d) Good decoration. I go to every floor and I see all different drawings, good job. If you can, add some description for some drawings/ item, e.g. what is Khum, I think is a musical instrument?
Security On 2nd day after my breakfast and waiting for tuk-tuk at the sofa (around 8am), an unknown person come into the hotel and trying to sell me a handphone as he mentioned he lost in gambling. I am shocked and not sure if he is one of the guest as he seem left the premise after I say no several times. Maybe the front counter has to be cautious on unknown person come...
Read moreStaying at this hotel is not advisable because you will be scammed at checkout. The rooms displayed on booking sites/apps aren't actually what you will experience. Instead, the rooms as well as the overall property is dilapidated.
The entire staff lacks professionalism and unfairly charges their guests. They will charge damages to your folio for using pillows and towels in an effort to fraudulently raise your bill.
The entire hotel is untidy with smudged elevator mirrors, dusty rooms with no windows (felt like a prison), and dirty phones with heavily soiled furniture. The refrigerator in the room was causing a foul smell to permeate the air. Furthermore, the filthy fitness facility can only be unlocked by a front desk attendant.
Upon checkout, they tried to charge us an additional $16 dollars (the rate has now increased to $22 on the Agoda booking app) for staining a pillow and hand towels with hair gel, which is water soluble. Additionally, it is not a biohazardous material.
We requested permission to reenter the room so that we can document the alleged damage with photos. They refused. Then, we requested that they bring down alleged stained linen to the lobby, and they refused.
