I booked and paid for an apartment with a balcony, kitchen, seating area and a view. What I actually got on arrival was a concrete and tile cell-like room with no windows apart from a tiny piece of glass next to the ceiling that let in the glare from the corridor all night every night, old mis-matched furniture that needed repairing, a communal balcony two corridors away from my room, and a communal kitchen at the end of the corridor that was so dirty and grimy I couldn't bring myself to even go into it. When I showed the girl who checked me in my booking confirmation, including photos and details of the apartment I'd booked, and that this was NOT what I'd paid for, she just kept saying her English wasn't very good, and she wanted me to accept this room. As it appeared impossible that I would not get money back, and I was on a budget, I had to take the room. ||The pillows were like lumpy concrete. I had to use a small cushion to sleep on. There was a smell of drains from the bathroom which couldn't be ventilated as I had no windows. There were many exposed wires poking out from the walls and ceiling. The door did not lock properly from the inside and I had to push a heavy chair against it at night to ensure it stayed closed. The noise from the whole building until the early hours was terrible, and I did not see the kitchen being cleaned once during the few days I was there. When I investigated, the washing up sponges were black and slimy and the pots and pans were covered in dirt and crumbs. ||The place is advertised as 3, but I would say 1 at best as is very run down and basic. I feel very bad about reviewing this in a bad light, especially as the girl was so welcoming and happy, but at the end of the day I want what I paid for, and what I got was NOT what I paid for. ||||The only good thing about this place - staff friendly and helpful, close to...
Read moreThe room is very big and very clean. The bathroom has hot water even though the weather is hot in Cambodia to need a hot shower. We asked for extra fan from the friendly owner. She's very friendly, helpful, and gave us bottled water every day during our stay. As other said, this guesthouse is very close to bus stations to get to Sihanoukville. We stayed there again after we returned from Sihanoukville. The owner called Tuk Tuk for us the next day to get to the airport. It's good to have local negotiates the transportation price for you as most tuk tuk drivers just like to charge foreigners a lot! We'd definitely stay there again if we go back...
