Right at the heart of Phnom Penh you can find this absolute jewel of a hotel. The staff were amazing. They were classy, warm, extremely polite and spoke good English for the most part. They basically fell over each other to help you and take care of your needs. I hope the hotel is as proud of their employees as I am impressed with them from reception, cooking and maids to the house technicians who showed up at 10pm to fix the water and even took off his shoes outside our room. These people are an absolute pleasure. The rooms are large, spotless clean and modern with everything you could ask for provided for you within. The bathroom has a massive shower, fit for two, and a bathtub. The breakfast was amazing. You have dozens of choices. You can have your egg prepared in any way you like by a proper chef and have a waiter who prepares the coffee for you and brings it to your table. The warm options are lovely and taste great, the fruit is ripe just to the point and the continental options are also plenty. The breakfast room is beautiful and large. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, since we were on a round trip we usually arrived at the hotel too late so the pool was already closed but it looked amazing. The Skybar has an amazing view. If you want to stay in Phnom Penh, even as someone from Europe, it doesn't get any better than this. Thank you for having us and please let your staff know that they were an absolute joy.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. The indoor lounging area is a peaceful retreat with comfortable padded wooden lounge chairs, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city. The small touches, like the potted plants on the tables, added a refreshing, natural vibe that made the space even more inviting. The rooftop area was the highlight of my stay. Watching the sunset over the city from the chic rooftop terrace was a breathtaking experience. The modern seating, with its stylish black cage-like chairs and vibrant red cushions, made it an ideal spot to unwind with a drink while soaking in the panoramic views. Dining at the White Lounge Restaurant & Bar was another memorable experience. The elegant design, coupled with the stunning twilight views, created the perfect ambiance for a relaxing evening. The sophisticated yet cozy atmosphere made it a place I looked forward to visiting each night. Lastly, the indoor seating area in the lobby was a lovely space to enjoy a quiet moment. The classic wooden furniture, plush seating, and tasteful décor made it feel like a home away from home. Whether you're looking for relaxation, luxury, or a bit of both, this hotel truly delivers on all fronts. I can't wait to return!

Unfortunately this hotel lets itself down by having false information in multiple spots (room key holder, hotel directory, hotel pamphlet etc) about 24hr room service and I was also given false information about when the bars open (I went to the pool bar and was told in wasn’t open until 5:30 even though that isn’t written anywhere and was instructed to go to the sky bar which ended up being closed due to a function, when I went to reception to ask what was going on they rang someone and then got back to me saying the pool bar was open but I was too annoyed at that point). They claim to be multilingual but that mustn’t include English because only the manager could speak it fluently, one man at reception had broken English and the rest had no idea and those were staff serving in the restaurant so ordering coffee became impossible. They also had a party on that night for the convention and unfortunately we were on the floor underneath and there Is no sound proofing in the hotel, we called to complain at 8:40 and were told it was going till 11 but it seems a lot of people must’ve complained because the music was turned off at 9:30. This is not a 4 star hotel by an international standard, maybe for Cambodia but I’d suggest if you 4 star go for an American brand hotel.

Poulo Wai became out favorite hotel in Cambodia. We used it as our base of operations for excursions from the capital to various points throughout the country. ||||This hotel is clean, comfortable with a complete set of amenities at a very nice rate. The rooms are spacious and we had a great view of the City from the 17th floor. Beds are excellent. Everything in the rooms were in good working order with plenty of space for luggage and personal items. ||||The breakfast buffet included many hot and cold food options and was well staffed. The facilities includes a decent fitness room and spa, along with an indoor/outdoor patio and infinity edge pool. The hotel also has a roof-top restaurant and lounge area with great city views. ||||We liked the abundance of common areas in the hotel, which incudes a large lobby with multiple lounge areas, the pool patio and the roof-top. ||||The location. worked well for us: Walking dstance to the Royal Palace, National Museum, Central Market and the riverfront. It is also very close to the Independance Monument/Park and Bassac Street. ||||The staff were the most helpful and gracious team anywhere. This includes the warm welcome from the lobby people, to the incredible hospitality by the restaurant team to the maid staff. Everyone there made us feel welcome and were all so helpful.||||There were no significan negative aspects to this hotel, but a few minor areas for improvement: 1. The fitness room can get quite warm as there seemed to be insufficient climate control. 2. It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator with a freezer in the room. The room includes a drink cooler but no freezer. ||||In sum, I would highly recommend this hotel if your travels take you...

This hotel could be a much better hotel than it is today. My 5 days stay was comfortable, hotel is clean. Nice pool. However, I had to change my room on 20th floor because I found two pretty big cockroaches in the bathroom. Two days later, same story but this time on floor 16. Cockroaches coming out from the floor drain next to the toilet bowl. Which probably means the drains are infested with roaches on all floors. Some staff are really pleasant. Some other simply do not care and show it to your face. The kind of whatever attitude which can be annoying at times. I understand English is not their first language..... But staff should speak a minimum English to be able to communicate properly with their international customers. Most of them are saying yes yes to everything you ask them..... Obviously not understanding a single word leading to proper miscommunication. Last morning of my stay, I asked for a wake up call at 5.45am. I received the call at 6.20am..... No comment!! Last thing, hot water can take up a good 15 minutes before reaching your tap. Just be patient in the shower 😅 Location is not too bad but not the best in PP Last thing.... Breakfast is very poor in all aspect. Food, smell, service.... Management should improve the quality of the breakfast space and service that goes with. Conclusion: would I come back to Poulo Wai. Probably not. Price was fair but you can find better hotels with a much better service in the city. Special thanks to the nice housekeeping ladies and the staffs at the reception who always open the door at the reception / lobby welcoming...
