Perhaps the success of Rosewood Phuket is a testament to the forward - looking nature of the brand's strategy. Or perhaps it is the unique endowments of Southeast Asia that have inspired its ambition to delve deeper. In 2018, Rosewood placed two important pieces on the chessboard along the Mekong River. Among them, the opening of Rosewood Phnom Penh added another glorious chapter to this luxury hotel group known for its exceptional design. In the hotel industry, Rosewood has always stood out with its philosophy of "A Sense of Place", which emphasizes that design is the soul. Every hotel under its banner can be regarded as a work of art, and so far, none has been able to match its excellence, consistently topping the hotel beauty contests.|▪️|Rosewood is extremely stringent in its site - selection criteria. It tends to choose core areas, first - tier cities with developed transportation and vibrant consumer vitality. When it comes to selecting owners, Rosewood has even higher standards. Therefore, it was somewhat surprising to learn that Rosewood had chosen Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. Phnom Penh's ability to stand out may well be in line with Rosewood's understanding of the potential of this rapidly developing city. As the old and the new collide at the mouth of the Mekong Delta, creating a new spectrum, Phnom Penh is currently demonstrating its unique geopolitical charm and vigorous development momentum, interpreting the innovation of a Southeast Asian emerging metropolis.|▪️|In most people's Cambodia travel plans, Siem Reap is often the top choice, and Phnom Penh rarely makes it onto the destination list. Initially, I was the same, only setting it as a transit point on my journey, with my heart full of longing for the mysterious and shocking ancient ruins of Angkor Wat. However, Phnom Penh is developing at an astonishing speed. The high - rise buildings are springing up like mushrooms after the rain, demonstrating the vibrant energy of the capital. Yet, beneath this wave of modernization, Phnom Penh still retains its simplicity and composure, free from the impatience brought by excessive commercialization. Maybe that's why now is the best time to visit Phnom Penh, to experience the authenticity that has not yet faded.|▪️|If you want to experience the blend of the city's cultural charm and modern luxury, Rosewood Phnom Penh is undoubtedly the best choice. From its architectural design to interior furnishings, Rosewood Phnom Penh seamlessly integrates Khmer traditions, French colonial legacies, and contemporary design languages. It not only showcases the brand's aesthetic concept but also deeply interprets the unique historical temperament of Phnom Penh. If you, like me, are coming to Cambodia for Angkor Wat but have to stay in Phnom Penh, why not spend a night at Rosewood? Its beauty is not a result of extravagant decoration but emanates from within, exuding a magnificent aura. Who wouldn't love such a...

Read moreIt is truly a pleasure to review our 30+ day stay at the Rosewood Hotel in Phnom Penh Cambodia. We have stayed at many luxury hotels in the past; names like Ritz Carlton and JW Marriott. Without hesitation we give the top marks to Rosewood. If you are going to Phnom Penh, please read all of this review. We hope it is helpful.
Daniel, the managing director has done a fabulous job from top to bottom. Our room was one of their suites, one that was impeccable throughout. House keeping kept it shining everyday. Any slight request was taken care of in very quick order. The bedding was top-notch--we slept soundly each night. I expressly enjoyed the nice large, deep bathtub with a TV in the mirror.
We ate almost every meal at Rosewood. Breakfast was included in our special deal. The food was constantly good. My morning latte was perfect every day. We had dinner at their "Living Room" restaurant often. Aside from sliders, club sandwiches and great caesar salads they have some wonderful Khmer dishes. I enjoyed the Amok many times. A dish not easy to prepare, but was perfect each time. The head chef Christia, often made my us some special dishes upon request.
The spa/gym/pool was used often and greatly enjoyed. I was particularly impressed by the detail of the build-out and the use of high-technology in the hotel.
Front desk was alway attentive and jumped to help in any way. The concierge on the main level was always helpful leaving to go out into the city and made us feel welcome coming back.
It is very important for me to name the names of several employees that made us feel special everyday:
At the front desk was Sovan (manager and wonderful friend by stay's end), Ukdy, Soleab, Monica and Chanthol.
Concierge desk was Ratanak, Sambath, Chhaileang, Rotha and Thai. A special thank you to Sambath for not only researching a book we wanted, but went way out of his way to track it down, buy it and bring it to us.
Housekeeping there was Srey Leng, Srey Neang, Sophal and Nuch.
Finally the names of the employees in the restaurants are many. They were all fantastic. A few that I recall was Kim Hiv, Sokeang, Srey Sokheang, Rith, Jem, Paneth and Srey Touch (she was very special).
If you EVER get the opportunity to visit Phnom Penh, do not go to any hotel unless it is the Rosewood. We loved...
