Sora is not just a bar; it’s an experience that deserves a place in the top 10 things to do in Cambodia. The country is filled with breathtaking adventures, but visiting Sora is a highlight that stands above the rest. With its jaw-dropping views, exquisite desserts, and multiple unique atmospheres, this bar redefines excellence. Whether you prefer the cozy tranquility of the Whisky Library, the relaxing vacation vibes of the terrace, or the chic, convivial ambiance of the indoor spaces, Sora has it all.
From the moment you step into the building, the staff ensures that you feel special and cared for. Their attention to detail is unmatched, and their dedication to creating a memorable experience is evident. On our second visit, we were even treated to an exceptional musician, whose performance added yet another layer of magic to the evening.
And then there’s the crown jewel of Sora: Phirun, the extraordinarily talented and welcoming bartender. Phirun’s mastery of his craft and his dedication to his guests make him the heart and soul of this bar. My husband and I have very different tastes—he loves whisky and cigars, while I gravitate toward cocktails and desserts. Phirun listened attentively and delivered perfect personalized recommendations that hit the mark every single time. His knowledge of cocktails, ingredients, and their origins is impressive, and he shared fascinating details that enriched our experience.
Phirun’s professionalism, passion, and warmth truly elevate Sora to another level. He isn’t just a bartender; he’s an artist who creates unforgettable moments for his guests and he is a perfect reflection of the excellence this bar represents.
When planning holidays, I love to surprise my whisky loving husband by booking different bars every day of the trip when we have time for it, but after visiting Sora, we both knew that no other bar could ever compare. We’ve visited Sora twice already, and we’re planning to return on our last evening in Phnom Penh to watch the most beautiful sunset and relive the magic of Sora. It’s our favorite bar in the world, and it alone is a compelling reason to visit Cambodia. Thank you, Sora—and especially Phirun—for making our experiences unforgettable. We can’t wait...

Came here for the views and they did not disappoint! Loved the decor, vibe, music and it was very chilled. It clearly is the premier spot in PP and a very special place. It is one of the best views and Sky Bars I’ve been to and reminded me of Sirocco in Bangkok (famous from The Hangover movie). But my complaint is all about the lack of attention to detail and interaction from staff. Considering how quiet it was (and I was alone), both drinks took 10+ mins to come. They have so many people working and around you (I counted 14 staff members outside and that doesn’t include inside staff!) but nobody is actually proactively checking in on guests or asking if they want drinks or if everything is okay or if they can help. I had to keep asking for a straw every time I ordered another drink (these are the small things that they don’t check on). I noticed this for all the other guests too. They really need to allocate a couple of people to constantly check their guests and take more orders etc. The staff were all focussed on the trivial jobs like getting ice, glasses or putting the table lamps on the tables. You need to reprioritise what your staff are doing! I kept having to look around and make it known I wanted someone to serve me which I didn’t appreciate. For this type of venue and prices, the service needs to be better and they need to be a lot more attentive. They have the staff but they are not doing the important jobs IMO… focus on guest service and satisfaction. Not putting ashtrays on the table. It’s 4 star not 5 until they up their game on the service. Nobody came to check on me once in the time I was there. It sounds a bit pedantic and it probably is… but I can’t lie, I would still come back and I will recommend to friends and family that visit PP.
PS: the live band was unexpected and...
Read moreWe can enjoy here, Sora Skybar, a great view over rapidly increasing skyscrapers in Phnom Penh with sophisticated air and chilled drink. These are what I think is worth coming here. The overview from this bar shows us different faces of this city. One, that is how quickly the city is developing. The number of buildings mushrooming on the ground catch my eyes more than when I see from below. The second is we come to know that Phnom Penh is still Phnom Penh. Tonle Sap River, which flows the east side of the city is still there as it has flown in many years. And also, the old buildings and houses that were built in colonial style and have seen the history of this city with people living there, still spread across with filling between one skyscraper and another. It was just before sunset begins when I reach up to this terrace bar. After I chose a seat that is able to see upcoming sunset well, I ordered a mag of beer. It was gradually getting everything into orange minute by minute. Far away from the city, smoke coming from the burned crop fields could be seen at many places outskirt of Phnom Penh, and those make the sunset look milky orange to emotionally red as time went on. At the time when I dried up a mag and a bottle of beer, I found there increased more customers enjoying surrounding me that precious time. Then I realised time has come when I had to leave here for airport and went back down to lively crowd...
