We have been coming to Siem Reap since 2009 with friends to work here for a week and have stayed in another small guesthouse in the area. This guesthouse was filled up and so we had to look elsewhere and this time we decided we wanted a pool ( we have never had one before).||moms guesthouse is very large with 30 rooms but for the 9 days we were there, our party of 8, were the only guests in except for two nights when a very noisy group stayed.||The rooms are serviced everyday and you are given water bottles each day too. Our bathroom in room131 was very functional and clean and spacious. There were two days when the hot water stopped working but it was fixed immediately.||Beds were ok although it was difficult to find a pillow that suited me.||My daughter was in the room at the front of the hotel and it was a noisy room and the aircon did not work well, but the other 4 rooms we used it worked well.||The place felt clean and it was easy walking distance to town.||We only tried breakfast one day but it unfortunately was not good at all: we actually went to our old guesthouse and paid to have breakfast there or walked down to Common Grounds Cafe if we were not working.||The pool was amazing however, the pool we expected from the pictures, is not the pool you get. They have a new pool at the front of the hotel and it was Magnificent. I have uploaded some photos of the new pool. We spent a lot of our free time just sitting in the pool cooling off and talking. There are regulated times you are sposed to be in the pool but the owner if you check with him and he is still up is ok for you to have a swim after hours.||We felt very safe there. The gates are locked at night so if you return late you need to ring the doorbell. And during the day there is always someone keeping watch so no one just wanders in who shouldn’t be there.||Overall, apart from breakfast which in my eyes is a minor thing; it was a fabulous...
Read moreI can’t say enough about Mom’s. The family that runs the hotel is wonderfully kind and welcoming. The pool is hands down the best kept secret in Siem Reap, it’s always quiet and feels very private. I hesitate to write such a great review for fear that the pool will be packed on my next stay, but I also would not stay in any other hotel when I return. The building is beautiful, very very clean, the food is big quality and there is always a deep sense of serenity. The staff is incredibly attentive, happy to give tips about where to go and what to see, arrange any trips for you, all you need to do is ask and you will receive. I’ve visited a number of guest houses in the area, there are no rooms this big or beautiful or clean for the price. I loved my little balcony and coming home to the soft light coming in from behind the curtains, the smell of incense and always big smiles from everyone. I had meant to change my hotel halfway through my stay, but after a couple days I could not bring myself to leave. This place will always be a special home in my heart. Btw the WiFi and air conditioning always worked...
Read moreMyself and a small group of my travel companions stayed here at the end of our time in Cambodia. This was a lovely spot and I really enjoyed the space. This family ran and operated guesthouse exceeded my expectations. The room was very clean, the hotel space spotless, the owner offered suggestions and was always willing to help with guest's needs. Lastly, the refreshing pool was a welcomed extra. I would stay here again and hope that many more people will choose to support smaller family business owners over the larger hotel incumbents. Thanks Mom's Guesthouse for the pleasant stay and your...
