Good location with nice and friendly staff which able to communicate in English. 5 minutes walk to pub street and 2 minutes walk to lucky mall, which you could find some cheaper daily products such as drinks, snacks and even some local souvenirs at the mall. The hotel surrounded by some local or Khmer food stall which really convenient and a fast food restaurant KFC and Burger King near Asia Market Supermarket, just a few minutes walk to the direction of pub street. I booked the hotel which included breakfast, and it is really tasty and serve in buffet style, such as toast along with strawberry jam and butter, omelette, potato, waffle, fried noodle (MUST TRY) and as usual coffee, tea and orange juice. We stayed for 5 nights which include breakfast with two luxury twin bed just spend me about 90 USD with free airport pickup by tuk tuk. If you wanna book a tuk tuk for a one day tour to visit the temples around Angkor Wat, you can book through the hotel at the reception which only cost 15 USD/tuk tuk for a whole day (price exclude sunrise and sunset) without tour guide or explanation. Our tuk tuk driver name Mr. Mab is a friendly and able to communicate with English which bring us around the Angkor temples. Pls take the tuk tuk driver phone number in case you are lost due to he will drop you at a place and you need to meet him at another place after visit, but he will show you where is the place to meet up, usually with a lot of tour bus parking area which really...
Read moreThere are many hotl and restaurants that you can choose from at Taphul Street and I'm glad I chose Parklane hotel. ||||1. It is within my budget range||2. Locations of high-rated restaurants are within walking distance only! There's a 24 hour Cambodian-Chinese restaurant just beside the hotel. It's quite good.||3. Staffs were very accommodating and respectful. I complained the air-conditioning of my room and the receptionist by that time did not hesitate to change my room. He transferred me to a Family room for the same price.||4. Room has enough toiletries, free water, and tea.||5. Near to almost every establishment. Just in front of the hotel is convenience store and a sleeper bus station which is very convenient if you'll want to go to other city in Cambodia.||6.Free breakfast and it is generous.||||If there is one thing that I can comment is maybe my sheets. It has a smell like it did not dried well. Maybe because of the monsoon that time or whatever, it's forgivable for me as long as there's no bed bugs.||||I'm happy with the service that I received for USD 15 a night. Value for money! I would definitely recommend this...
Read moreWhen I was booking I was a bit skeptical since it looked a bit dated, then read all the positive reviews and booked. Big mistake. This place has not been updated since probably around the 70s. When we first arrived at the room there were literally a swarm of mosquitoes. Me and my partner killed about 30 of them (we counted) and then asked to be moved out of our room as we thought there might be a mosquito infestation. They weren't understanding what we were asking and then gave us a mosquito coil to burn in room. We ended up spending a fair bit on mosquito spray and additional repellant. Would never book again even if it was budget. Would have rather went the hostel route because atleast there would have been a social scene. Only redeeming factor was the location, some of the staff was very pleasant and there was a free airport transfer with a very friendly tuk tuk driver. There are plenty of better options within a block radius for only a small...
