First off, our stay in Siem Reap was mostly so we could see Angkor Wat and the countryside. Second, my husband, my four young kids and I enjoy traveling to different parts of the world so we can mingle with locals, as well as enjoy their cuisine. I just want to lay out possible biases of why Pub Street would only get a two star rating. So Pub Street basically is what it sounds like: a street with a bunch of food/drinking options. You want to go to a street that's lined with restaurants (not so much "pubs" in the traditional sense), while having each establishment's staff call out to you to eat/drink at their place, while bopping to techno and edm, eating overpriced western cuisine, and looking at pretty twinkling lights? Then Pub Street's for you. And no judgment. You do you;). I would be remiss if I didn't also mention how I was propositioned to purchase drugs by a person posing as a tuktuk driver while walking down the street with my kids (the only time that this happened to me or my husband in our whole six weeks of traveling southeast Asia). Needless to say, we found Pub Street completely outside of what we desired for our time in Siem Reap. We did frequent the 7-eleven at the end of the street quite often, as we needed quick caffeine hits for the road. My kids also enjoyed splurging and buying dragon breathe ice cream from one of the carts on the street one evening. The lights were pretty, but I'd say it's a walk through and be done. Instead, I recommend going around the corner and eating some great local food at Khmer Taste. Great prices and probably the best food we had our whole time...
