I discovered Natraj Indian Restaurant on Google Maps as it was conveniently located close to my hostel in Siem Reap. It looked promising, so I decided to take a short walk over. The menu immediately caught my eye, especially with the great offers they had on curries.
From the moment I stepped in, the hospitality was exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the gentleman who greeted me was warm and welcoming. He seated me promptly, and I decided to go for their butter chicken, paired with rice and garlic naan.
Let me just say, this butter chicken was one of the best I’ve ever had! The flavors were absolutely incredible—rich, perfectly balanced with just the right level of spice to suit my palate. The curry was full of depth, and the chicken itself was cooked to perfection—succulent, tender, and incredibly flavorful. The garlic naan was equally impressive, light, fresh, and bursting with flavor.
The service was flawless throughout my meal, with both the gentleman and the lady working there checking in to ensure everything was perfect. Their attentiveness made the experience even better, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was welcoming and pleasant.
I’ve already recommended this gem of a restaurant to some friends who are staying in Siem Reap. If you’re in the area and craving delicious Indian food with impeccable service, I highly recommend Natraj Indian Restaurant. I’m already looking forward to my next visit when I return to Siem Reap. Thank you to the wonderful team for an unforgettable...
Read moreOwner Mr Natraj was prompt to have us seated when we approached.
Ordered a few items: Butter chicken - A little bland Garlic Naan - Very tough Chilli prawns - Very good, must try! Idly - Don't bother trying (flour was not fermented at all!!) Hot Coffee with milk - Terrible Hot lemon tea - Terrible Chinese noodles - Not great
As for the idly, the restaurant knows their mistakes and didn't charge us for it, eventually. Honestly, if it was good, they would have stood firm about their food quality. Food had zero quality, EXCEPT for chilli prawns.
3 strikes that makes me never return here again:
Hot coffee: How to even get this wrong as a restaurant? Idly: Just steamed flour and even this can go wrong. Cat inside the restaurant: Staff was carrying and petting a cat and then let it roam in the restaurant while serving us and she might not even have washed her hands when serving our food?? No thanks!!
The experience was so bad, I can't help but think how did this place get this many positive reviews?
Please head to Dakshin's, Curry King or Vanakkam India instead, if you want proper food.
I'm not associated in anyway to ANY of these restaurants, just looking out for a fellow google review...
Read moreThese days we are extra cautious when someone has near 5 star rating with many reviews. We think those may be fake reviews! Our group was also bit cautious that way. But we were wrong! This place deserves all 5 stars and more! Rarely, I found such tasty Indian food outside India. We ordered typical dishes like paneer butter masala, butter naan, bhindi masala. All of those were magical. Even the drinks - mango lassi, buttermilk - were so fresh and very tasty! Don't know how they prepared these common items with such great taste! They offered complimentary fritters (but we get that at many places or free papad we get). What more, they offered complimentary Gulab jam as well! I've not seen such gesture commonly in Indian restaurants abroad. The owner (who is Indian) was also around and what I liked of him was, true to local Cambodian culture, he also greeted us all with folded hands! Well, that is our Indian culture of doing 'Namaste', but somehow we don't do that back home! Highly recommend to...
