Not a good start, when hearing a rumor from another client who was changing rooms. I will not go into the details as there is no proof on this strangers claims. After a very long trip, and booked for 2 nights, we had to make a decision, and we just wanted to unload and rest. So we took our chances and stayed the 2 nights. It was ok, but the hotel lacks the care for details. Like 'white' comforters should be white. There was a yellow stain, faded, but I still noticed it on the corner of the comforter when I turned down the bed, so I stripped the bed, and turned it, so it was at the foot of the bed and turned upward, so it would be under the top bed cover (took a pic of that) but, then 2 hairs on the bottom pillow case (no picture) again, tired, so shook it off and tried not to think about it, things could be worse, but gawd, the thought that the bed sheets might not have been changed kinda creeped me out, but I'm sure if I had said anything, I'd be assured, that they were changed. |The room was ok, we had the jacuzzi room. The room had a round window that once had a velcro cover, but it was not there, so the sun came right in through that window in the morning, while the others were blacked out, it didn't matter. Details...they need to fix that, I mean really, what is the point of the other curtains and black out curtains on them, if there is a window that can not be covered, and lets sunlight in? Details...when I went to use the restroom for the first time, I was going for the toilet paper and was immediately eewwed because I thought a hair was draping on the toilet paper holder! Wrong, it was Not a hair, but a fine crack on the porcelain that made it look like a dark hair...and then I go to wash my hands, and bloody hell, if I don't get the same Eeewww in the sink! A fine line crack, looking like a hair lying across the sink! Oh my, I'm glad they were just cracks, but cracks, especially in a sink will hold germs for sure. Big yuck on that. If renovations have truly taken place, details like a cracked sink or anything cracked needs attention.|The Front Desk Staff: I'm not sure, but I don't think they like their job much. Service was mundane, not friendly, more matter of fact to the point feel, like lets just get this job done, and be done. Almost felt like, instead of being a valued customer, you're a burden.|BEST experience at the Monte Carlo Inn was the breakfast! We paid the extra the first morning to add the bacon and eggs and hash browns, and the next day just had the included continental, lots to choose from. BUT the Very Best part of the breakfast experience was "JEN" the dining room attendant, Nice, Friendly, Professional, and totally on her game! Don't let that employee go, Monte Carlo Inn, she's a keeper. She was the best part about the entire Hotel, her service was excellent.|Would we stay again. I can't say that we would, with so many other places to experience. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great...
Read moreStayed 2 nights while on vacation with wife and 2 kids (6 & 3). 1st night was great, kids loved the pool, we loved the rooms, I would have given full stars if it wasnt for the 2nd night and treatment from staff and manager at check out. 2nd night we got in late and went to bed right away with plans of sleeping in, as we were leaving next day but wasnt in a rush to leave early. At 530am the smoke alarm had other plans and went off in our room jolting me wife and I out of bed thinking there was a fire and quickly getting dressed half asleep to get kids outside. Once I opened the door to the hallway I realized it wasnt the fire alarm for the building, just the smoke alarm and it was only going off in our room. I tried waving a towel at the smoke alarm but it was still going off. No one smoked in the room or had any candles going or anythinmg of that nature, there was no smell of smoke or anything. As I made my way to the phone the alarm went sielent. I called and spoke to front desk, they told me they couldn't see any thing wrong on thier monitors and its probably just chirping becasue the battaries are dead. I told her it wasnt the dead battery chirp it was going off like there was smoke for over 5 minutes but it is off now and we are going back to bed. My kids were scared as there was a tornado warning the night before so it took some time to calm them down and get them back to sleep. Once we all got back to sleep about an hour and a half since smoke alarm went off it went off again. I called front desk right away so they could here alarm. Thay said it is probably dead batteries and we will send someone up to change them. I got a chair and stood up on it so I could press the button on the alarm to silence it. A worker showed up with batteries and removed smoke alarm from cieling. There was no place to change batteries as it was one that plugs in, so worker took the smoke alarm with him back to front desk. When we checked out we asked to speak to the manager as we were not happy as our night and now day was ruined. The kids were cranky and difficult becasue of this and we had a long drive ahead of us. When speaking to the manager she made it seem as if it was our fault the alarm went off saying " These alarms are new and only go off if there is something not right going on in the room". This upset us more and told her our night was ruined and now we have a long drive ahead of us with cranky over tired kids, least you can do is comp us for the 1 night that was ruiend. It wasn't until we walked towards the exit saying we wont be staying here ever again when she agreed to comp us $35. I dont believe this was fair compensation as our night was ruiend, they should have comped us the night, if they would have I would have left a better review because up until that incident I was impressed with my stay and would...
Read moreClean rooms. Good price. No credit card required if you give a monetary deposit you get back upon a satisfactory check of your room at checkout. Have to smoke outside like most places these days but there are benches there and ashtrays at all entrances. We were given 2 extra hours after checkout time to checkout because we didnt arrive until 530 a.m and there was no issue there we just had to ask for the extra time. There was a complimentary breakfast which wasnt much to choose from (yogurts, bagels, toast, cereal, etc.) We helped ourselves to that around 10:30 a.m and decided to purchase a breakfast from the menu in the restaurant at that time. I can say the woman waitressing that morning was very rude and unpleasant. She didnt offer us any direction to the breakfast items available that were included in room price but did jump on the opportunity to center us out and loudly announce to us that the breakfast items were to be eaten there and not taken to go in a very rude and even accusing tone and basically implied us to be thieves. She watched us carefully as we served ourselves even though she was too busy to greet, welcome and seat us. When we inquired about ordering breakfast she made it very clear to point out it was not included in the price of our room and would cost extra. When we confirmed our acknowledgment of the extra cost she left us to seat ourselves then 10 minutes or more after we sat down we had to track her down and request menus even though we had clearly communicated we wanted to order breakfast. She was quick to take our orders as she clearly did not want to be serving us and was rude doing that as well. When we placed our orders she seemed to almost be trying to change our decision about ordering breakfast by stating the fact we were responsible for making our own toast to go with our breakfasts and it was not her fault if our breakfasts arrived before we made our toasts or otherwise had cold toast before our breakfasts arrived. I noticed she was quite friendly and pleasant with the other table that came in after us. She had no problem seating and serving them. They were an older couple without visible tattoos or piercings so I can only assume maybe that's why she did not like us that we were younger and tattooed and pierced? We were very nice to her considering the treatment she gave us. I can only hope my friend did not leave her a tip though he probably did because he is too nice. The rest of the staff I encountered were very nice and friendly and helpful though. Cant let 1 old hag ruin a...
