Pita Land Shawarma - Barrie Cedar Pointe — Restaurant in Barrie

I always love finding a new 5 star place to eat! Until it's not a 5 star.

The reviews for pita land were so promising. I went in for the first time and the gentleman that helped me was very confident that I would enjoy my pita box much more than the chicken on the rocks I get from the big shawarma chain. I was greatly disappointed by the tasteless version of chicken on the rocks that I received. I went to get my chicken on the rocks fix (from the big O) 2 days after eating at pita land. I was not satisfied

I decided to try again. I thought maybe the bland rice in their pita box wasn't giving a good representation of their offerings, given all the reviews. I arrived. Waited patiently at the order area of the counter. I was ignored when I walked in. 2 women came in within seconds of my entry. They were wandering around while staff was preparing food. The one woman preparing food then took a short pause from what she was doing and asked the two women that came in after me for their order. I over hears the woman ask "has everyone else been looked after" to which she answered "yes"

At this point I walked out. When I visited the first time the gentleman that served me eagerly asked for a review. Here it is. I'm sorry folks but all these reviews are very over hyped. "Friendly" staff will greet you when you arrive and not ignore your presence. Furthermore, the food is over hyped. Craving shawarma?...

My partner and I used to visit Pitaland often and always enjoyed both the food and service. However, our recent visit left us quite disappointed, and unfortunately, it doesn’t feel like the same place it used to be.

The service was always fantastic in the past—we were greeted warmly by two friendly young women and often by the owner, which created a welcoming atmosphere. This time, the owner wasn’t there, and while the young lady who greeted us was very nice and polite, the young man working alongside her was not pleasant at all. He seemed uninterested in being there, served us cold food, and made remarks that I think he thought were funny, but they came across as obnoxious.

The food was also a letdown. The chicken in our pita was heated for maybe 15 seconds before being assembled, the pita was barely warmed for 10 seconds, and even the potatoes were cold. It’s disappointing because Pitaland used to be our go-to spot when dining out, but after this experience, it’s no longer as enjoyable.

The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because of the owner, who has always been great, and the young lady who provided friendly service during this visit. I hope they can address these issues and bring back the quality and experience we...

We tried this location for the first time tonight after seeing we did on fact have one of these in Barrie. Let me say, from the moment we stepped inside the experience was great. The restaurant is clean and tidy, but not so clean that you can tell the staff are not busy. Everything is in good repair and the kitchen is well organized, pride is definitely taken and can be seen everywhere you look.

The gentleman behind the counter (who turned out to be the owner) was kind, friendly, helpful and attentive. He was happy to answer our questions to help us decide.

We both ordered chicken combos in a wrap with the potatoes on the side. The ingredients were very fresh, the cold table was clean, and the food was fantastic. Care was taken assembling our food which is a nice surprise these days. We also tried the lentil soup and it was great, I will be ordering that next time as a side. With a mango juice of course!

To sum up, I was nothing short of impressed coming here and we will be frequenting this place often. Thank you again for caring and taking pride in your business, it is certainly not unnoticed. I only wish I took pictures to post along with...
