A&W Canada — Restaurant in Clarence-Rockland

On our way back from a long ride through the back roads of Hawkesbury, we see this beautiful big A & W Rockland, 23 km sign. After being caught in a rain storm we couldn't wait to get there. Well, upon arrival, all of the chairs were already turned over the table and some guy was washing the floors. It was 7:30 pm, the restaurant closes at 9 pm, we were confused to say the least. We had our very hungry 80 year oldlm with us, who has mobility issues and thus moves around in a walker. Upon opening the door to the restaurant, we were greeted with wet & flooded floors and basically, the guy washing them was not letting up and continued to work around us. Granted, we were given a table when I asked if we're able to dine in. I pointed out that it was 7:30 ish & that it closes at 9 pm. Needless to say, getting to the cash to ace our order was an obstacle course of water & floor cleaning machine which never stopped making this horrendous noise during our entire stay. Thankfully, our order came in a timely fashion brought tonus by the cashier. The food was ok but loop warm sadly, but being so hungry, we had no time to complain. Getting up to go get salt& pepper, vinegar , mayo at the station also proved very difficult as the individual cleaning the floors had flooded them with soap/water making it near impossible to access them. Needless to say, we won't be returning to this location. It was a very unpleasant and unwelcoming experience to say the least. At least none of us slipped on the floor although there were a few...

I have been going to this A&W for years and have always had the very best service. We have food sensitivities in our family and they've always been bang on with our needs. the service has always been fantastic, and the food is one of the better quality fast foods. I went there last week, June 14th 2024. The service was not great. I got the hamburger and it was a regular teen, no special instructions at all. At the cash, I saw on the screen that the lady had taken the instructions down right. I went back in and had to wait several minutes before someone "noticed" that I had a hamburger in my hand and wanted to talk to someone. I had just barely begun to explain the situation when she spoke right over me to say I needed a receipt... I went back to the car get said receipt, not realizing that I had not been given one. I went back in to see if we could work it out and she said I needed the receipt. At this point, I behaved badly and smushed the hamburger on their counter, told them they were not treating their customer right and left. ( I was a little loud and my behaviour was not great) Still, their behaviour was seriously bad...

Crystal is not a very pleasant manager. Had our breakfast served wrong while sitting beside a staff member blasting East Indian music on her phone while on break. LET alone the very loud music in the restaurant today. The bacon slices were not even an inch long the eggs were cold missing hash brown and toast that came way after more than 10 minutes waiting. Reason they are busy. Nobody was after us. Don't serve the food if the order is not complete then. Asked to make a new breakfast which was refused by manager. Crystal refused to make new breakfast or refund. After arguing she said talk to Christian the owner he'll back me up. Not the service it use to be. I once had a chicken strip raw given and was given 4 free meals. I had to fight to get a tiny money back TODAY. We will not be back after going there for many years of great service its now gone...
