I was so dissatisfied with our takeout. We live 20 mins away and it closed by the time we realized the rice tasted like water and looked like minutemaid rice, the chicken was so dry, the salad soggy filled with salad liquidy dressing that had our entire platter swimming in liquid. The pink pickles were completely off. They were thin and didnt even have that tangy pickle taste (for the ones who know what im talking about). Our humus sauce was like chuncky. Our garlic sauce had a bug in it. And we found a hair at the bottom of the rice. This was the worst Shawarma we ever ate. We thought we got the Shawarma Des Laurier but once we picked it up it was their location and said “Why not try a new place?!” Instead regret. Never again. Will be going back to Shawarma Des Laurier where the food is amazing, full of flavour and well taken care of. I dont know why this place is still open. I guess we all have bad days?! You need to quality check your food....
Read moreWe had take out here and it was a good experience. The owner was kind and answered our questions. The hours at the restaurant can be a bit of a challenge. Parking is ample. A person that needs gluten free can eat here.
The Chicken Shawarma was dry due to the usage of chicken breasts. When chicken breasts are on a rotisserie for that long it will happen. The beef shawarma was better but it’s just a premade coagulated meat slurry that every restaurant serves. Nothing special. The sides are good and the rice has a nice cinnamon aroma to it. They give you a generous portion. The potatoes are dry and overcooked. The hummus is good as is the tzatziki sauce. Opt for just the Tzatziki. The pickled sides are a must, I would have forgone the salad.
Overall a good experience and I’d go again. They would benefit from increasing quality. The platters are huge and the size can be reduced by increasing the quality of...
Read more**UPDATE: I am a regular customer here and I live 30+ minutes away. I've always enjoyed their food and service but on December 28th around 2:45 PM, I was embarrassed by a staff member in front of other customer's. I ordered 2 large donairs and a tall, mid 50's man asked me if I was going to eat both of those or if I was sharing. It's 2023 (2024 now) and there's no excuse for this type of fat shaming. I am a bigger woman but whether or not I was going to eat both donairs (which I wasn't... It was for me and my daughter), that was none of their business. Publicly shaming a customer is horrible and unacceptable. This person should be ashamed of themselves, especially now that they lost a loyal customer.
**Original review: Nice staff, the shawarma is very delicious. It's was my first time getting shawarma from Shawarma Rockland and I really...
