Currently staying here now, was assigned room #213. Was granted early check-in, front desk reception was excellent :) First impression upon walking in was "Wow, nice clean Hotel and friendly Staff". Went about my business yesterday afternoon prior to actually going up to my room, I didn't "physically" check in until after supper last night. Microwave, fridge, coffee (only dark roast coffee available, not a preference for everyone), nice quality bathroom soaps, heat works great (maybe a little too great). Bed is super, super comfy and nice comfy pillows...it was a long day of travelling, I was ready for some much needed sleep. Lounging on 1 of my 2 queen beds (I'm by myself), some sort of "fly" was on my left ear, shoo'd it away. Again, felt bug on my head again, shook it off...it's fruit fly season, didn't faze me. Shortly after, went to find the remote to turn off the tv and something on my pillow caught my attention, a large fast moving bug. I start recording...wasn't sure what it was. Flipped over 1 of my other pillows, and there was another one, much smaller. Couldn't get dressed quick enough to get the hell out of there. Went down to the front desk, night agent apologized and assigned me to room #328, came back to my original room with me and waited while I packed up and we left each other at the elevators. I'm sorry...I'm clearly shook up by these bed bugs, but you couldn't inspect my next room to make sure all was okay??? No, I didn't sleep last night despite going to bed fully clothed and I wasn't offered any comp what-so-ever (despite him telling me that the 4th floor is closed for renovations...so????????) Breakfast this morning was Meh...omelet, sausage rounds, make-own-waffle, bread, bagels, cereals, oranges/apples, yogurt...pretty basic. First time EVER dealing with bed bugs...not a pleasant feeling...Can't say I'd return to this Hotel, especially with the lack "pleasing...
Read moreAs soon as my family and I entered the room, there was a big ladder leaning against the entrance wall. We were hot and exhausted and were ready to unpack and relax but that created an extra step/inconvenience to reach the front desk agent and get them to remove it as we couldn't bring the trolly in because of the ladder. Everything looked clean at a glimpse but when we looked closely the room was extremely filthy. There were crumbs on the desk and chair, there were scuff marks on the back of the chair as if someone's been kicking it around with dirty shoes, urine marks on the toilet (front, under the seat), filthy looking and smelly shower curtain, dirty microwave, stained duvet, etc.. This is quite unacceptable especially during pandemic. If anything, everything needs to be double wiped with disinfectant. The fact that there were crumbs indicates that things have not even been wiped at all. The breakfast buffet closed due to pandemic which is understandable but not acceptable that it is not indicated on the website. The website still said the morning buffet is included and that was part of the reason why I chose to stay there. What is even more unacceptable is the quality of the breakfast box given in the morning. It had a stale tasting bagel and a muffin, yogurt and banana. Very sad breakfast and made us feel like a homeless getting a free meal from a shelter. And that breakfast box was the same for the whole 3 mornings that we were there. No room services between each day we were there. We were told to ask for anything we need but sometimes it is hard to reach anybody. The robby was empty at times with a sign saying nobody is available at the moment. Horrible, horrible experience. Definitely not Marriott quality. More like...

Location is awesome - lots of food places around (Mt.Fuji, fast food, ice cream, boba place, a face), Tim Hortons just right there, Shopper Drug Mart, a Liqueur store. Across the big street there's even more at the Northgate! There's a nice park around a tiny pond (for walking), and a beautiful hill not too far away from which to gaze at the city afar.
Rooms were quiet. The hotel is located on the side of a busy street, but, believe me, the rooms were nice and silent. In spite of the heat wave, the AC did a fantastic job! The washroom was neat, but feet can get cold on the bare tile floor. (Bring slippers with you!)
They have a little gym (24 hour one) with enough space for your personal yoga/workout mat in the corner, with two treadmills, weights, and the bicycle thing. Not many people were using the fitness room. And they have a fun pool with a slide. The slide was fun for both - adults and children. It wasn't crowded either.
The breakfast was fair with a variety of food options, healthy ones included (eggs, some meat, either bacon or sausage, different varieties of breads and a couple of muffin options, waffles, cereal, milk... And a little bit more.) Free tea and coffee!
There's a small corner market which wasn't too expensive.
The bed was comfortable, free WiFi comes with your room, blackout curtains...
The only reason why I gave the room 4 stars - on my way to the washroom, I was barefoot and in the doorway there was something sharp and hurt my foot a little (nothing serious). I wasn't able to find out what caused it.
Awesome stay for my partner and I! Hope someone reading this can choose this hotel for their next stay.
Thank you, staff, for your work...
