Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Edmonton

I ordered an eight piece dinner and asked for all white meat and then heard the sweetest words I've ever heard... "Just breasts?" The man asked me if I wanted eight pieces of pure white meat! In my shock I asked if I could have ribs pieces as well and he said "Absolutely."

I have never been given this option at other chicken places. All white meat always has meant some wings.

Needless to say, this ended up being an incredible (four) meals. (Deep fried chicken heats nicely in the microwave if you cover it with paper towels).

On this trip I also ordered the beans & rice for the first time and was amazed at how good it was. I'm not sure what they add to the beans but they have a very smokey flavour and are more delicious then they have to be. I'm also a fan of their coleslaw which, to me, has kind of a dill undertone to it. I've also tried the mashed potatoes and gravy and it's very good.

So why am I not giving them five stars? Because on the trip before the 'white meat heaven' one, I ordered the chicken strips (always after the white meat) and they were not very good. The rubbery texture almost made them inedible, but I have to say the bayou dipping sauce was fantastic. It has all the flavour of Frank's Hot Sauce but without the heat.

Overall though, I love this place!

The food is very tasty! I really like the menus sides. Theres definately more than just chicken and fries! The prices are a tad higher than the usual place such as kfc but totally worth it! I give Popeyes a 4 out of 5 stars!! Mostly because of how tasty the food is. The place is as you would expect from a fast food restaurant. Kept clean (enough.) I have never seen anyone cleaning a table but I think thats cause the tables are always being used so as a curtousy people clean their mess for the next. I dont really get how the line up is so ridiculously long. I realized thats because the call outs for your order take up to 20 minutes sometimes a bit longer. Now I dont really have an issue with waiting as patience is a virtue, but come on STAFF theres about 20 people working the cash, food, ect. How in the world does it take 20 mins to pack a few 3 peice meals?? When you can see about 100 peices of chicken sitting on the hot plate at the front!! Now when we were there last time my husband seen a worker picking through the chicken and picking out the smaller sized peices for the orders!! And the few times we have been there they have gotten out order wrong which was annoying but other than that the food is the only reason Popeyes is so popular and why I am definately going back!! Hopefully I wont always have to deal with the not so...

Dined there once before, wasn't bad but quite slow. Decided to give them another shot today, Holy smokes. If you recall the DMV scene in zootopia you might remember Flash the super star behind the counter. I do believe he was faster. The employees were incredibly slow moving and did not seem to care about engaging customers at all. I waited no less than 15 minutes in front of the till for someone to even acknowledge us to take our order let alone wait for food.

I counted 4 parties in front of us waiting forever for their orders and five behind us. All waiting angrily in line for someone to bother to take an order or at the very least tell us they were behind for whatever reason.

Horrible experience and no care from staff members about engaging customers due to a wait. Ended up leaving after the 15 minute mark of waiting (timed it to be sure) without ordering anything as I was not confident the food would be out and ready before a half hour wait.

Update went again today (June 4). Still the same speed as a sloth trying to fight its way across cold honey. Absolutely ridiculous excuse for customer service at...
