I'll try and make this short and to the point. We had travelled to Edmonton on a Friday for a pre- wedding event and it was decided we would stay at this hotel 🏩.Saturday when we left our room we turned the door notice over so that while we were out our room would be cleaned etc. We returned and our room had not been cleaned. I thought perhaps they had simply missed our room, no big deal, I'll phone tomorrow morning as a reminder to ensure our room is serviced. At this point we had no towels etc. When we woke on Sunday I phoned the front desk at approximately 9:30a.m. Explaining the previous days events and that we required our room to be serviced as we were out of towels. We left the room and met a housekeeping staff member in the hall and asked her about our room being serviced and asked very politely how long it would take. The answer we were given was that it would take approximately 5 minutes as it wasn't a full check out. We informed the housekeeping staff member we would be just going upstairs to our parents room and would return shortly. We waited close to 45 minutes in our parents room then returned to our room. It was still not cleaned. We again met the same housekeeping staff member in the hallway and expressed our concern as it had now been sometime and we were eager to shower and join our family. We explained we would leave again to provide them with more time to complete this task.We left for well over an hour doing tasks to kill time and returned once again to our room that had still not been serviced. This was unacceptable. I then went to go downstairs to talk to the hotel staff (met the same housekeeping staff member in the hall and was given attitude - staff informing me that check outs come first and they will get to my room when they get to it) and requested to speak to a manager or supervisor and was told that would not be possible and asked what my concern was with a smirk on his face. I expressed to him that this was not a laughing matter. I explained the situation and that we needed to leave the hotel to meet with our family for an event and he continued to wear this smirk on his face and said he would make a call. I listened to the phone call and informed him that he was not understanding what it was that I was asking of the hotel staff. I requested that my room be cleaned NOW as we have been accommodating all morning so that the staff could clean our room and it still had notbe cleaned. He then phoned the housekeeping staff again and requested this of them in a very low tone without expressing any sense of urgency (more like a robot). He then got off the phone and informed me that they would get to my room soon and that the housekeeping staff had just gone on break. At this point, as I'm sure you can understand, I was not happy. I then very clearly expressed that my room was to be cleaned NOW. It was not cleaned yesterday and we had no towels... I had been very accommodating to this point and I was not standing for it any longer and that someone best be at my room when I get there. I then proceeded to go to the room and the housekeeping staff were close. They then came to the room and clearly were not impressed and told us we had to leave our room. I then expressed that I was not leaving until the room was cleaned. This angered the housekeeping staff (1) and the one lady proceeded to slam things around her cart and our room as she was cleaning and making comments as she did these tasks. She then went into the washroom and began spraying cleaner everywhere. I asked her politely to leave as towels and the bedding change were really all we necessary and that we appreciated it. She then screamed at me saying that I went to the front desk and asked for my room to be cleaned it was going to be cleaned. I then expressed to her that we didn't want cleaner being used and I was sensitive to it.... She continued to spray. I then screamed at her and demanded she leave my room. She continued to spray cleaner. I then screamed at her again and she left. We will never stay here...
Read moreMy family (Me, my wife and two kids) were evicted from our apartment last week. I used my paycheck to stay at the Rosslyn for a few days until we can get help for accommodations. We ran out of money before we could get help. Emergency social services paid for us to be at the hotel for an extra day. On the last day we were there we were told by the staff multiple times that we had to leave the next day no matter what. On the day we checked out we tried to get an extension from social services but were unable to talk to someone in time before we had to check out. After we checked out we were in the lobby still trying to get through to emergency services when the lady at the front desk told us we couldn't sit in the lobby anymore because the lobby is "for guests only, which we are not" and told us to leave. There was no one else in the lobby let alone anyone that needed the seats we were in but we were still told to leave when it was -31 outside. Imagine kicking out a homeless family that includes children not just out of the room, but out of the lobby that no one was in because the seats that aren't even being used by anyone are "for guests only". The rooms are great but the staff were cold, unwelcoming and made me and my family feel like we were delinquents that they wanted gone as soon as possible. We were told that we were no longer welcome once the one day extension was up and than proceeded to kick us out of the lobby into extreme weather conditions before we could make other arrangements to make room for literally no one. I am extremely disappointed in the staff there. I use to recommend the Rosslyn to people but I won't anymore and I will tell them...
Read moreThe waitress in the restaurant part was nice. Also the cleaning staff was friendly. But there was many discrepancies in the room mainly the front closet and in the bathroom where there was much hair and a razor stuck in the tub drain so we could not have a bath. The main problem was the lady at the front desk the blonde older lady with glasses. When we went to get our room key as we had late check-out and we're locked out she decided to stay that I don't know what you're talkin about maybe you were drinking all night. That's some bulsh*t considering we didn't have any alcohol. What kind of a thing to say to a guest in front of other guests were to say at all while you're at work. Regardless who's name is on the room when you have the matching debit who cares the real name will not be able to even come and do anything there anyway as it is the wrong card. Either way that kind of talk is inappropriate to a paying customer especially when almost everything that can be wrong was wrong. One of us that stayed in that room has worked in hotels being supervisor or cleaner for multiple years so I am not just talking out of my hat as my other reviews show I know what I'm talking about and I will not be returning to that hotel ever again except maybe to return the attitude. Here is a couple pics I got as I didn't do the bathtub one because I was trying to have a bath but just look at this front door closet shelf,EWW even tucked away it is right at the front door with nothing on it. So the extra star as for the friendliness of the restaurant staff and the cleaners they were friendly so to get a...
