An overall decent experience. Though for a pet friendly hotel, one of their full-time housekeeping, staff is afraid of dogs and would skip my room entirely without even knocking to see if I happen to have the dog out of the room. The same individual also insisted that I was wrong about not having an ice bucket And demanded to come in and look for herself before getting me one. The disabled bathroom you have to be able to self transfer extremely well are you gonna have issues getting into the tub onto the bench that they do have set up or onto the toilet as to grab bars aren’t set up overly well. For an accessible room, I was surprised at the counter height being your typical height rather than lower down like most accessible rooms, I’ve been in. Other than continued issues with housekeeping, I was pleased with the staff that handled the continental breakfast as well as the staff that would handle check in. Though taking two and a half days to replace my coffee maker was not pleasant as day staff were not as diligent about the coffee always available in the continental breakfast area being fresh. At night the coffee was great tasted good during the day. It was hidden miss if you would get old burnt tasting coffee or decent tasting coffee, more often than not with old burnt coffee. They do have a barbeque outside for hotel guests to utilize with a nice wicker seating area as decent in size. As well as a lending library of small appliances. I did notice in some rooms with a kitchenette. There was a full stove, and some that did not have a kitchenette only had a two element induction section to utilize. I would suggest bringing utensils as well as measuring supplies, whisk spatula…. That you may normally utilize when you’re using a kitchenette as they were lacking in that area. Plus the sharp knives are both as dull as a butter knife. I was extremely glad to have brought my own due to the extended stay. I was lucky enough to be able to travel back to my home which was having renovations done to access some of these items. However, the first few days I was unable to get into my home due to asbestos removal and this prove problematic. The room I was in the heater would kick in but below AC if the room was slightly above the set temperature making the room have a chilly atmosphere in the middle of winter with a thin blanket to use. The pillows also squish down significantly, making it hard to sleep if you don’t bring your own pillow.
I did have issues getting into the building due to the metal runner from outside to inside having a bit of a lip that was too large for my front wheels of my wheelchair to get over without extreme difficulty or tipping. There was more than once when staff had to come out to assist me to get over that lip and I’ve been utilizing a wheelchair for well over five years at this point. So besides some of the accessibility sections being questionable and the housekeeper that is afraid of dogs in a pet friendly hotel. It was a decent experience though I have had better by far. I would recommend this place as a third or fourth option to those visiting Edmonton. Just due to the rest of the staff being extremely friendly and Helpful And the lending library of small appliances as well as the barbeque outside that is the only reason it hits my top five list of hotels. I would not want to spend another 10 days there, though not in a wheelchair due to the accessibility issues as well as the housekeeper as my dog is a service dog and tends to be with me this is allowed a significant amount of dog fur to build up and having to continually ask for towels and face cloths. The housekeeping aspect with the individual being afraid of dogs to me is a huge problem as that’s kind of an important part of...

Checked into this hotel on Monday, August 26, 2024 and the room we were assigned had only one working element so I informed front desk and we were re-assigned to another suite. The new suite was very decent until we saw the shower with a damaged tile and an unsecured sink faucet as you can see in the photos. We selected this hotel as it was newly renovated and had a full kitchen - unfortunately, it doesn't seem like their renovations were very well done.
Tuesday, August 27....went to do laundry in their laundry room which was very clean and roomy....sadly, they could not sell me any detergents as they were sold out :(
Wednesday.....August 28...all is well, nothing out of the norm happened....whew
Thursday...today...craaaaazines!!!! Heard a lot of construction and thumping from upstairs and from the side wall, called front desk to inquire if there was some sort of renovation going on as the wall lamps in our room was actually shaking and the receptionist said there was no renovation and inquired if we needed someone to check our room. We declined as we know that the noises were periodic so we left it at that. The noises continued from time to time and it got so annoying that we finally called reception again and asked for someone to come check.....no one came within 30 minutes and we had to go out so we left the room. Returned to the hotel around 7:30pm and saw that our door wasn't shut properly!!!!! We were utterly shocked and very upset. Went down to the front desk to voice my concerns as it is NOT OK to leave our door unsecured!!!! Receptionist at the front desk was very apologetic and I know it's not her fault .... still doesn't help that panic feeling we had when we came across the door that was ajar.
The facilities here just didn't work out for us and the unlocked door is a real shocker, this should have NEVER happened.
On a positive note...morning breakfast is pretty good as they have a self cooking waffle station and a good variety of food. Staff members here are very friendly which is greatly appreciated. Although front desk was apologetic regarding the unclosed door and assured the issue would be addressed with the individual, it still sends chills down my back...thank goodness nothing was lost.
Checking out on Saturday and moving to another hotel for another 4 nights...fingers crossed....
UPDATE.....on Friday, we decided to do laundry and once again, they did not have any detergent for sale. Darn stupid washer was broken as the FINAL rise cycle did not work. Had to re-do it but still didn't work properly and the clothing was very wet. Ended up taking everything out and did yet another wash in an alternate washer. THREE washes had to be completed so we spent nearly 3 hours doing one load of clothing. Cycle takes 45 minutes and after we tried to fiddle around with the damn thing, it took us nearly 3 hours to finally be able to put our clothing into the dryer. When I was checking out of the hotel on Saturday, the front desk female receptionist asked me if we enjoyed our stay and I said "no" and proceeded to tell her all that has been disclosed in this review. Shockingly, when I told her that it took us nearly 3 hours to complete the load, she interjected to say that was not possible because the wash is only 45 minutes....no point telling her the extra time that we spent trying to figure out what was wrong with the damn washer.
Seriously, I think we just happened to have a very bad experience in this hotel and the last encounter was just absurd because all other receptionist were quick to apologize but this one tried to shoot down...
Read moreThis will be a lengthy review as I wish to give the details I was looking for when deciding where to stay in Edmonton. 4 of us stayed 4 nights:- June 6-June10 in 2 studio queen bed rooms next to each other, on the 5th floor. The rooms each had 2 queen beds and a kitchen. We were nervous about our stay because we were traveling with our 2 elderly parents (in their late eighties) and there were many negative reviews online especially regarding cleanliness and comfort. But we went ahead with booking as this was the only hotel we found that offered a full kitchen and was located close to the family we were visiting. We were pleasantly surprised to find that none of the negative comments regarding cleanliness, comfort, breakfast etc. proved true during our stay. In fact we didn't need our rooms to be serviced at all during our stay, as they remained clean enough, and had been well supplied with towels, bedding etc. Although at first we thought there weren't enough plates and cutlery, it turned out that some clean ones were in the dishwasher. There was no dishwashing liquid or sponge as the expectation is that guests would use the dishwasher for which a dishwasher tab was supplied. We brought our own dishwashing liquid and sponges, but there were several signs on the fridge, and in the reception area encouraging guests to ask for any appliances or supplies they might need. We are vegetarian, and found the breakfast each day to have an ample supply of protein sources in the form of boiled eggs daily, along with another style of egg each day such as frittata, cheese omelette, scrambled eggs, milk, yogurt etc. There was a good variety of carbohydrates such as bread, waffles, muffins, oatmeal, cornflakes, cheerios, etc. There was even an attempt to provide hardy fresh fruit such as bananas, apples and oranges. There was a sign indicating that Vegan options available on request. Caroline & the other girl serving in the breakfast area were very efficient, keeping everything filled, and the area clean. Both worked very hard especially on the weekend when the hotel was very busy with families with younger children. Overall cleanliness and comfort and breakfast at this location were very satisfactory and good value for money. What makes this hotel more than just satisfactory though, is the staff who were consistently helpful and friendly:- Madison, Michelle, Raman, Palak, Janet are few names I got but all staff were always...
