I heard good reviews from my friends and Mother's friends too. So my father and I decided to come here for dinner to celebrate my Mom's birthday.
Let me tell you. The managers and server (Daneen) at Chop did a phenomenal job. This is really good service and extra mile to welcome us to our 1st time trying Chop.
The manager stopped by and gave a starter on the house. I think it is wild mushroom & goat cheese dip. The dip was really good with drizzle of honey on the crostini where we can spoon the goat cheese. The cheese was good as goat cheese is creamy and that Brule style give the dip a nice texture.
Next we ordered the main. I shared bone-in rib eye for 2. The rib eye was cooked perfectly medium rare and nice crust it had. The seasonal vegetables which is brussel sprouts was good as you can feel the crispy texture because it was roasted contrast with sweet potatoe. I was surprised with the vegetables being brussel sprouts as I expected the typical steakhouse vegetables: carrots, peas and few broccolini. This exceeds my expectation.
The wild rice pilaf... oh wow it was really good. I would order a 2nd round of wild rice again as it was good. The rice was fluffy and cooked to perfection
My mom ordered the seafood linguine. I had a small taste and it was good. Other restaurant when they cook linguine is that it is really heavy with oil but Chop perfected it not too oily. Shrimp and mussels were cooked perfectly nice and succulent not tough. Linguine cooked al dente.
Dessert was the best. The pineapple upside down cake was really good. Perfect amount of rum in the cake and creamy vanilla gelato. Not too booze that you taste all rum. You would think gelato would not work but it did and has close consistency of vanilla ice cream. The dessert was not too sweet. Perfect amount of sweetness.
The other dessert was the sticky toffee cake was also good. Cake intermixed with ice cream or gelato parfait style.
Service was the best. The server (Daneen) did an absolute brilliant job making our experience Chop the best we had. The great touch was giving us a Happy Birthday card to my Mom. She went far and beyond what we expected. Also the managers were awesome and want to ensure we enjoy our experience at Chop. Again Chop did not disappoint us!
I am happy to say I would 100% recommend going to Chop. I would come back too! I wonder if we come back, can we ask Daneen be our server again if we make a...
Read moreWe booked a reservation the night before. When we arrived we were taken care of from the moment we walked through the doors until we left. Kaitlyn was our server. She started off " what brings you out tonight are you celebrating anything special?" "Yes, our 25th wedding anniversary. " Asked if we've ever been to a Chop and the answer was "no*. She provided a lovely intro to the restaurant and the type of beef they served. She had some lovely recommendations as well. She surprised us with a nice glass of proseco to celebrate our joyous occasion. We started with the mussels in a light white wine cream sauce which was delightful. I wanted to drink the sauce. Shortly, a plate of wild mushroom and goat cheese appeared on the house welcoming us to the Chop dining experience. Creamy smooth and yummy. My husband had the steak and lobster medium rare. It was cooked to perfection. He normally adds HP however this evening he was enjoying the excellently executed piece of meat. I opted for the pistachio crusted cod. I don't normally order seafood away from the coast, being a North Coast girl. However, I had a craving. I chose the cod as it is a more forgiving fish to cook. The lemon tarragon sauce had me craving for more of it. The fish was nicely cooked and the vegetables had that nice firmness to them. It was extremely enjoyable. Kaitlyn paired it with a beautiful chardonnay that was light and refreshing, allowing the dishl to shine. On to desserts again, they surprised us with complementary desserts to choose from. The attention to detail for our anniversary dinner continued with a beautifully decorated Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on our dessert plates. It almost brought tears to my eyes. The little added touches go a long way. The creme brulee was just right and my husband enjoyed the New York cheesecake topped with a blueberry sauce. Thank you Chop staff, for our incredible dinner experience that was above and beyond or expectations. The world class service paired with great food made for a night we will remember for years to...
