This business has no integrity, lacks truthfulness, will do anything to be deceptive. Filed a BBB complaint May 2014, it is on BBB record of complaints. Details of complaint are not given on BBB site, due to the fact, we mailed in complaint with pictures, apparently when you mail versus sending via internet, BBB will not show correspondence of the complaint.
We bought a 2-piece teak wall cabinet from this establishment from the Aurora location (3 locations). We bought over the phone due to the fact I am disabled and my wife broke her arm...we have no car and it is difficult to get around. Before purchasing this 2-piece teak wall cabinet, the clerk sent us 3 pictures of the bottom piece and no pictures or conversation of the water damage to the top piece, even though their own store tag that came with the delivery stated "condition noted"..."top has water damage". (wished I could attach this store tag to the review).
When the 2-piece teak wall cabinet arrived at our location; we were shocked of the water damage to the top piece. The top piece has water marks along most of the lower 2 centimeters, veneer is peeling and missing, dry rot on the back left side (daily, there are little wooden bits flaking off onto the floor) and the top of the cabinet is warped (caving in the middle area). The store even states on their web site...they only take items in excellent condition. We even got a Toronto teak store owner from Queen Street East come and see this furniture....let me just say, he was not impressed and even said it would not be a good idea to try and repair this unacceptable furniture.
The clerk we dealt with in Aurora store, told her deceptive story to her owner ...leaving out vital truthful facts. The owner failed to do the right thing, when you ask for M.D. reviews on the internet, BBB complaints are on the 1st page....ours is the one that does not give details. The other complaint is interesting....I will not comment.
We have sold over $1,800 of our goods in the Hamilton business over the last 6 months and we have bought items over the years.
This owner just thinks about the sale and $$$. What happened to some kind of scale of customer treatment.... called customer service.
Be VERY aware of this business! Please feel free to tell a friend, relative or business on this review and ask what they think.
This owner may respond to this review to try and deceive readers....no matter what this owner says.....the REAL truth...
Read moreFrom a purchasers/buyers perspective, it's an overall good experience, lots of really neat stuff to chose from, and always changing. However, try doing business with them as a seller, this is where you see the truce face of this business, and it's not a pretty one. Fees charged are outrageous, they tell you what your possessions are worth and what they will sell it for, and when they will reduce the price. Their customer service is very poor. You are responsible for all costs (shipping), and when your item sells, you cannot access your funds until the 15th of the FOLLOWING month, and they WILL NOT send you the money, it MUST be picked up......unbelievable!! In my case goods were damaged by their driver in transit for which they would not hold themselves accountable. My partner and I were in a jam moving residences which is why we used them at all. Our bedroom suit was worth over $2500 and ended up with $300 in our pockets. After the $180 delivery charge, our net was $120! MD and some lucky buyer ended up with a great deal......we on the other hand got stiffed! I would never ever use these people again, I would definitely use Kijiji first, failing that, I would just give it away before...
Read moreThis place is incredible! They have their inventory listed online which allowed me to pre-purchase a beautiful set of Mennonite crafted furniture and then pick it up a few days later! The price was unbelievable! I paid about 1/8th of what it is worth as is, forget about buying it new! While I was there to pick up my furniture I wandered in the showroom and wound up purchasing a few more pieces as well. The girl working was incredibly helpful and friendly as well. If you're looking for unique pieces at an affordable price this is the place to go! Be sure to check back often though as the inventory is constantly changing due to new additions as well as quick sales! One of the best ways to help reduce your carbon footprint is buying used goods and Millionaire's Daughter makes it easy to find solidly built repairable pieces that cost the same or less than particle board...
