Out of the Past — Local services in Hamilton

I absolutely loved it here! While visiting, I felt a very fun and chill welcoming atmosphere to the place. Staff were friendly and kind, and helped recommend similar items or pieces that may suit my interests based on what I tried on. Super nice! Me and a group of other customers didn't realize we had stayed past closing, as the staff were in no way rushing us out and even invited us to keep browsing - which we politely declined. While I went to pay, I had some issues using my card due to a daily point of sales limit I hadn't realized I had. But Sam was a super chill and understanding cashier that let me retry, and accepted my request to hold my bag of items so that I could return the next morning to pay and take the items I'd gathered. The pieces I found are unique, fun, and one of the other staff had just freshly steamed a cropped suit jacket with tailcoats when I tried it on, and had been very nice offering me to try on some other similar items, which were in the process of being steamed as they were new arrivals. Looks like a really great place to be, to enjoy the company of cool and friendly people, and I honestly can envy the staff that get to work there! A wonderful spot! Thank you, Out...

From the moment I entered the store yesterday, my roommate and I did not feel welcome. I've never stolen anything in my life and gave the girls working no reason to assume I do and yet I was followed around the entire time and when I found a sweater I liked and wanted to hold on to it for a bit before fully committing to buying it like most people do, I was asked if I wanted them to bring it to the front and when I declined, she said "I'd feel better if it was kept at the front." I then tried on a couple items that both didn't fit and was told to leave them in the dressing room if I didn't want them which I did and the same girl (black and blonde hair) that took the sweater from me when I first walked in, refused to check me out before confirming the items I tried on were still in the dressing room. The girl with the pink hair was very nice about the whole situation but the other one that I'm assuming is the manager was completely out of line. I loved this store but there’s not much of a selection anymore. Also, the cashier isn’t that great. My mother asked for the 2 for 5 special on nose rings and clearly her and I walked in together. She didn’t ask us if we were together or nothing nor did she refund our purchase. We clearly wanted a 2 for 5 but instead we ended up spending more than we wanted too. Plus, the jewelry isn’t even that great. The diamond fall out and isn’t even really worth our money anymore. We’ve been going to ootp for 10 years since king street and they had the same selection. Usually their cashiers are bubbly and welcoming. Now they’re just snobby and rude. When you work as a cashier, it’s your job to make sure the customer is ready to pay and Not just make the decision on your own. Very disappointed, won’t be going back...
