This is a really gorgeous campsite. Very picturesque and the river is crystal clear and great for dipping toes and skimming stones. We drove into town for dinner; Hope is such a lovely town! I wish we had spent two nights here rather than a night in Kamloops, where our RV park was extremely basic. Campsite advertised as free WiFi.. didn’t reach our plot! So completely irrelevant. Biggest issue- We were not able to shower or even use the toilets here as the water has been cut off. Front office were really vague and told us there was a connection issue in town that had cut off half the town’s supply! A local woman told us that this happens often. No discount offered for the huge inconvenience of not showering my kids tonight after a swim in the lake and a day in the hot sun! Not the parks fault but handled badly. Even if they just reimbursed the money spent on bottled water. Bins are overflowing here this morning and full of flies. It has been bank holiday weekend, the RV park hasn’t been full, but maybe low on staff? You have to pay $2 for 6mins for showers if they are on during your stay. Whilst in Hope make sure to take a picnic down to the Kawkaka Lake… of a weekend it’s full of families having BBQs and swimming in the lake, there’s a great playground there too! We also did the train tunnels and it was a lovely walk!

We arrived on Monday and I said we wanted to stay until Friday. I thought i paid up until today but there was a problem. While in Vancouver yesterday visiting family we haven't seen in a year, I noticed missed calls from the campground. I called back and was told they were going to pack up our stuff because we should have left by 11am on discharge day. I was so upset and they had the manager call me back because they had booked our site to someone else. The manager explained that we could stay but should get back ASAP. This totally ruined my family visit because we had to leave Vancouver which caused our visit to be less than 2 hours. We arrived back after getting stuck in supper hour traffic and wasn't even given a discount. I worked in customer service for years and this behavior is not how you keep guests coming back to stay. We won't be staying with them again when we come back next year to Hope. I also took photos of our campsite when we left so they don't try to charge us for any damage.

We (husband, daughter, 2 dogs and myself) traveled here in a camper van and stayed for 1 night. Great place to stay with fair sized camping spots under a canopy of trees. We didn't reserve a spot ahead of time and just drove up and asked if there was still anything available and got a spot not too far from the toilet/shower buildings. We had no power or water hook up which was no problem for us. We paid $42 for the one night and they had tokens for the showers you could buy, they were $2 per 6 minutes. Toilet and shower building was decent and clean. There was wifi, but only near the office. The campground is located by the Coquihalla River which is beautiful. The campground was very quiet at night, we enjoyed our stay!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Location: Great - near restaurants, lake, coquihalla canyon

TERRIBLE CAMPGROUND:

  1. NO PRIVACY There isn't a clear indication where your site exactly is because you are too close to the next site We were at site 90, and behind us is site 60 (we were asked to move our tent after spending a night already, tent pitched, airbeds inflated) because we took up space in their site which we did not know

  2. SHOWERS THERE ISN'T ANY HOT WATER! You have to pay $2 per 6minutes When we went to the office to complain about the hot water, and ask for a refund (we didn't use all the tokens for the shower because it was unbearable to shower in cold water), the guy we spoke to (man in a bun) had the worst attitude. His argument was it was non-refundable, and it's not his fault there are hundred of people showering therefore takes time for hot water to start again. MY ARGUMENT: WE PAID FOR IT, WE SHOULD HAVE HOT WATER. WE TRIED DIFFERENT BATHROOMS, AND DIFFERENT TIMES. When we explained that we have gone to other campgrounds where shower had to be paid for, we never had any issue with hot water. Those campgrounds were also busy but they were able to provide hot water for everyone. We wanted our money back because we couldn't shower, he then thought the resolution was to give us more tokens for the showers that we obviously could not use. HE HAD THE WORST ATTITUDE!

  3. Anyone had access to the campground. There wasn't any sort of security.

  4. We had to pay extra for parking! When we initially made the reservations, we had explained that we had a motorhome, a vehicle and a tent for the one site - and we were told then that motorhome and one vehicle is included. But as we checked in, (MAN IN A BUN - the worst customer service) he told me that the motorhome counted as one vehicle, and the truck would be extra and had to pay 30$ EXTRA for the 3 nights. As I tried to explain to him that, that is not what we were told when we made reservations, he then proceeded to show me the campground rules and read it to me like I was an idiot that didn't understand. He was just so rude. I didn't want to argue and just paid.

THE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE WE RECEIVED DEFINITELY RUINED OUR WEEKEND. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!

First of all, I am very disappointed with my experience during our stay in this campground. I have high expectations because its privately owned campground and you pay quite a bit of money per night. The campground is close to the road and it appeared that anyone can access the site. In fact, while we were walking along the river path we came across a man who look kinda sketchy because he has a backpack with a black jacket and a hat who was biking along the path. Someone that looked out of place for sure. There are NO AMENITIES at all. Then, bathrooms were a mess every time. You have no idea how often they actually clean them. The showers you pay $2 for 6 minutes. I don't mind paying at all if you would actually get proper "hot" showers. But no, you get "ice cold" showers. I did approached the staff about this, however the guy who supposed to be assisting was so rude. Unfortunately, I didn't get his name. But he is the guy with a bun and a mustache. He threw a handful of tokens when we told him that showers doesn't work. What a great way to treating your customers with respect....hand them more tokens when they complain that the showers spits out "ice-cold water." We definitely did not have a great experience here. The campground is not well maintained for sure. But the most disappointing is their lack of good customer service. We are definitely not coming back here. If you are reading this, please consider not booking your trip here. It is awful!...
