While I would give this hotel a 5 for the fact that they bring animals and they booked me in so quickly, there are alot of things that bother me about this place. Most hotels I've stayed in you can control the heat to your room , here they lock up the thermostat, so the best help I got to waking up freezing cold (every night 3 nights in a row ) was just to give me a heater and also I am staying here in emergency accommodations and most hotels have a continental breakfast of some kind, you would THINK the place social services or AISH would send people would provide SOMETHING for someone to eat at least once a day, nope. I also had to apply for FOOD because the Continental Inn - does not serve any Continental BREAKFAST....so while they helped me with my pet there was also an open hole in the room that went into the wall I don't know HOW FAR, but I crazy glued that thing shut MYSELF after being told someone would come look at it and then they never did. I have attached the picture I took of the hole in the wall that I glued shut myself so my cat wouldn't get into it, because even though I TOLD STAFF, it was NEVER ADDRESSED, even after I posted this review....OH and there are ice buckets in your room, but after looking I found out the only ice machine is on the 6th floor. I do NOT like the fact that the hotel the province utilizes for vulnerable people does not ALSO have some kind of community liaison or social worker that people who are staying here if they need help, they can access! I was approved to stay for 4 days and only got 2 days worth of food and then was told that I could only get help once a month, after hours of being on hold. Some people - MOST PEOPLE - who access Alberta works DONT HAVE PHONES...so how can they even ASK FOR THE HELP THEY NEED? Initially I thought this was an ok hotel to stay at, but there are so many problems and no one listens to the people who actually have to stay here... I will add that I thought night staff (a woman at the desk) was diligent at her job and on the ball when dealing with people. And my VERY last thought is maybe it would be nice to have a first aid kit on hand for EVERYONE, not just people with children...

Very clean rooms. Comfy beds, and the breakfast was good. Easy check in and check out. The Lady working early morning was very polite, and friendly and got myself as well as another friend checked into our rooms quickly. I had noticed another review from someone saying how highly they were mistreated because of being indigenous. I as well I am a native woman, I'm not afraid to say it. And I was treated very nicely, and the staff were very helpful. There is an assortment of people working on the staff, so I personally haven't experienced any racial issues. Keep up the good work staff!

Attended Indigenous Showcase 2025 at this location. There were over 500 people at this fantastic showcase of performers. I live-fed all the performances up on my Facebook page. This is the only photo that I took of the "King of the North: Ernest Moonias" from Cross Lake, Manitoba. Great location except for the tiny dance area. The hotel also provided stew and bannock, sandwiches, pop, and chips for quite a markup.

If google would allow me to give a rating of 0, that would not be low enough. I would give this hotel a rating of -5. If you want to participate in theft and drugs, this would be the place to go. I would not recommend women and children to stay here unless you want to risk being placed into harms way. I’m not sure what influences the kind of clientele they attract, but it seems that drug addicted homeless persons stay at this hotel. If you want to be treated like a worthless person by customer service when your items have been stolen from your vehicle in their parking lot, come here. I went to the front desk, and could very clearly see, on the screen that is right behind the desk, that my vehicle is in view of recording, and yet they told me that I needed the police present to check the tapes. So I went to the police station across the street, and the constable there contacted them asking for the tapes, I was told that “the person in charge of the tapes would not be in for 2 days” and had not heard anything since. I tried out of my own liberty to negotiate to attain this tape, since time was very much of the essence, but rather the receptionist sent me to go find the security guard, wherever he was in the parking lot or in the halls of the hotel or at the liquor store, and could not be bothered to call him to come and help me. I returned for a couple days, but after that point I had accepted that my belongings were likely gone by that point, the seriousness of the situation was very much dismissed. What happened was that I had went out to my car, and saw that $2500 of winter work clothing for staying warm was gone from my car, and everything had been scattered in my cab. I need this for my job. Then a witness approached me, clearly stated that he was staying in the hotel. He stated that he helped a woman carry my bags of gear into the hotel, not knowing it was stolen. My only hope of getting back my belongings rested within the hands of the receptionist, and I was treated like I was foolish. I don’t know how the conclusion that I am the crazy person here could possibly be drawn, all the while it’s almost like they are protecting the thief in their hotel! They could not care less when I begged for help, not even when the constable who did care asked for their help too. So in conclusion, if you want to be around drug addicted homeless people, or if that is you, which likely is, stay here. I don’t know what it is about this hotel, but something really seriously bad is always happening there…just the manner in which they accept how ruthlessly ghetto the area is, and how I am the stupid one here. And it’s true, it is a horrible area in Edmonton. I would recommend spending a couple extra dollars to stay somewhere safer. I honestly don’t know why they would have such a severe lack of sympathy, protect a criminal, treat me so poorly, and withhold clear evidence. Just horrible this hotel is....

Location is somewhat alright, I didn't appreciate the non stop arguing with staff when it comes to asking for any additional items (bathroom tissue, towels, pillows ect.) it's nearly impossible ( they treated me as if i was going to steal the whole room.) and don't get me started with the food, my goodness how hard is it for them to cook what I order? I've cooked for 6 years in restaurants around edmonton and the lake land and never once made customers feel dumb for what they order, its Nothing but mistake after mistake with each meal, I felt so rushed as a customer, and when it came to ordering food, basically each time it was wrong. We had our reservation cover the food cost until I pay it back at the end of the month, and i feel like i picked the wrong location to spend the 5 weeks at with my family, its not my reserves fault, and most nights we didn't even bother to order food or sleep in the hotel,

we had a 5week stay, and the staff are never wrong here, you as a customer will always be a burden to staff and in return they will treat you like a child or even go as far as rolling eyes and being sarcastic in a rude way. The bathroom was small and bedding was dirty. I wish the owners would take pride in this hidden gem with the proper "can do" Attitude from staff this place could easily make a 180 degree turn into something proud to be apart of, but as is , I would steer clear of this establishment and go for something with a bit more professionalism, side note. I bet a staff member will reply with a sturdy "it's your fault we are perfect" reply. Next time I get my reserve to cover my vacation I will choose something far away...
