Cheap hotel! Will charge you if their bath mat gets dirty from their own floor. This is my 3rd time in Kelowna, and its the first time I am not satisfied with the hotel we stayed at. My brother and I stayed here for a couple of nights. We are not fancy people and just wanted a place to crash after our planned activities. ||We are responsible people in our 40’s and we don’t party. We just wanted to enjoy Kelowna for a couple of days after a night in Vernon. The room shows its age but still marketable. It still uses a physical key and not a card one though. ||I book a room with a Kitchenette but we only used the fridge and microwave. We did not require housekeeping as there were enough towels for the 2 of us. Come check out time I called the front desk but it was busy. Housekeeping told me to just go straight in there, so we left a tip and head straight to front desk. ||Everything went well in the front desk, told them that we took the 2 bottled water but it was free. When I got back home, I was surprised to see a $23.20 charge on my credit card the following day. I called them and I was told that the bath mat we used has a stain and they cant remove it, so they have to replace it. I laughed at it and so as my brother. ||I was a hotel front desk supervisor/duty manager for a while in Banff and I can’t remember charging any guests for a bath mat. My Friend who is a manager in one of the hotels in Banff think it’s just petty. Anyway, I told the desk staff that I will decline the charge until I see a photo of it. She told me she will bring it up to management and will follow up. ||I called back the following day since no follow up happened. The manager eventually called and explained to me how they are just a 3rd generation family owned hotel and that they are not a chain hotel with bigger support etc. etc… So they need to recuperate the loss. That means the guest has to pay for the replacement. duh!!||Well, even small hotels have damage/loss expenses, thats part of running a business. I asked for a photo of the bath mat before we hang up, and the manager sent it to my email (see attached photo). I told him too that I will definitely exercise my rights. When I saw the picture, I really don’t know what to say. ||It’s not even a stain, it’s dirt from their own floor with some hair from my brother’s. Which just means their housekeeping is not doing a good job of cleaning the floor. Showed it to my brother and friend and both said it looks like it could be washed and cleaned. I mean you’ll be the judge! That’s the cheapest way of milking your guest! ||They can have the 20 bucks but no way I am going back to this cheap hotel or even their sister hotel the Dilworth Inn, Its just not worth it. So much for a family owned hotel. The hotel that I used to work at in Banff was family owned but...

Almost all hotels full of tourists and firefighters. After an hour the first place I found with any space was here.
Get a "suite" with a kitchenette ... about $250 a night. More expensive than where we were staying, but apparently less expensive than a lot of the big chains. There was a reason...
Upon arrival, the hotel takes a pre-authorized damage deposit for about $100 in addition to pre-authorizing the whole stay.
Get into the room...my fiancee was grossed out enough she immediately called the front desk to ask about a refund - they don't do any.
We decide we don't want to swallow a $500+ loss but initially don't even want to sit down on the couch or bed. The bathroom itself was the only thoroughly cleaned area, with shelves and other spaces very dusty. Missing baseboards, dirt and bug filled sliding door grooves, all the windows open (not secured). Half a roll of toilet paper in dispenser, no extras. Empty tissue box in bathroom, only given 1 roll when we called to ask for more. Found coffee packet missing for machine because coffee was still in machine and pot from previous guests. Had to ask desk for a steam iron and mini ironing board.
Didn't find evidence of bed bugs but not exactly practised at it.
At one point, a guest room door was open when we went for dinner and when we came back after 3.5 hours, was still wide open. Informed the front desk.
Tried to use the "do not disturb" number on the phone only to find that after we had left room for second time at about 2 they had come in to turn down the sheets anyways (not new sheets). Would have preferred not to have staff in our room.
One good thing - 20% off at IHOP across yhe street, and pool seemed clean from outside.
Overall, horrendously overpriced for a poorly maintained property that either needs more staff or more...
