I attended this campsite with much anticipation having watched the videos online prior to arriving.
Getting to the grounds was straightforward enough, however getting inside proved to be a small challenge as upon arrival we were met with a long line up of people trying to check in. Once we were able to get checked in the young employee appeared to have no clue. He was unable to provide basic Information such as where the toilets/showers are located and even how to get to our cabin. The keys to our cabin were not in the envelope nor was there a map.
When we got to our cabin I found it showing its age. The interior and exterior where covered in dust and there was a musty smell coming from within the cabin that had clearly not been cleaned for a considerable time. The picnic table located on the deck was old/small/damaged and made for uncomfortable seating arrangements along with the fire pit that was located on the bank of a steep hill which also made sitting down at night very uncomfortable and frankly unsafe for small children.
In regards to the washroom facilities I noticed that the only toilets located close to our site was a portable toilet. For close to $200 per night I found this very poor that a better hygienic washroom solution was not available.
After setting up our items inside of our very hot and humid cabin myself and my family headed to the water park. The water park was family friendly and provided a wave pool along with lots of slides and splash pads for children which to be fair wasn’t too bad. However, I did not appreciate having staff look inside my bag to check for food and alcohol. It should be noted however, that the food provided at the water park area was awful. Cold chewy fries and a bland cold pre cooked burger costing in excess of $20 was outrageous for such sub standard food.
While at the water park I made efforts to locate washrooms on site which I did. I found them to be in awful condition which stagnant water on the floor, toilets that are covered in water and who knows what else. I decided against using them given the neglect of the toilets.
After visiting the park we returned back to our cabin for the evening. After cooking food and having a few drinks at around 9:30 pm we had to endure an obnoxious parade of vehicles which blasted out music for around 10 minutes. This seems to be a nightly occurrence as it happened both Friday and Saturday night.
Shortly afterwards we went to bed for the evening. The sleep I did manage to get was often disrupted by waking up I sweat due to the lack of air conditioning inside the cabin along with the cheap mattresses which were provided. The next day I woke up with excruciating back pain from the mattress.
The next day was much of the same, water park and returning to the cabin in the evening.
I feel I should also mention that the couple that we travelled with mentioned that they could not stomach another night in their cabin and decided to head out later that night as they did not wish to use the unsanitary washing facilities in addition to spending another night in their hotbox of a cabin.
Overall, I found this camp site very disappointing and in much need of some serious updates. The washing facilities are awful and are clearly never cleaned. The staff that work there are young and don’t appear to have much motivation when providing a service. The cost of staying at the park is extremely overpriced given the services available and all in all this made for a less than enjoyable experience and I can say with certainty that we shall not be returning...
Read moreWe were camping for Canada Day weekend and were very disappointed for the Luxury Camping experience at a Camping Resort. Check in was painfully slow considering everyone should have been pre-booked and were only checking in. We arrived at our site to find the only division between our and the next to be 2 trees on 1 side and 1 tree on the other. Our picnic table was broken on the edges and the peeling paint was not nice to sit on. Our site had a large hole in the ground which we frequently stepped in, especially at night. We could not string tarps due to the lack of trees. The worst was the bathrooms! First night the water was scalding hot that it was not usable and the whole bathroom was steamed up by morning. I was surprised that the bathroom taps were not able to be adjusted and only stayed on for a few seconds. But with the wet weather we had, the bathroom floors quickly became mud soaked and pooled. Despite the sign stating the bathrooms were cleaned frequently with initials and times, the floors remained covered in thick layers of mud, the garbage continually was overflowing, toilet paper, paper towels and soap were in short supply. Apparently the mens was not any better. Eventually, staff arrived in the morning to clean and once confronted by many upset campers they set to work cleaning. That morning it took 2 hours to clean. How can "luxury camping" have such outdated facilities? My standards are not that high, but I was expecting access to warm water to wash my hands and face, cold water to brush my teeth, taps that stay on for enough time to ACTUALLY wash your hands. Showers available IN the CAMPGROUND (and not across the parking lot) that allow for a shower without all my clothes and towel getting wet. Provincial parks have nicer facilities for a fraction of the cost. Why are campers permitted to wash dishes at the drinking water tap? Where are staff after 11pm to enforce any rules or regulations at night? I will not be returning to camp again and will not recommend this...
Read moreWe stayed in a cabin for 2 nights from July 11-13, upon arrival the resort staff were clueless simply handed us a welcome package with no map or direction to the cabin. The key to the cabin wasn’t even inside our package. The cabin is located on a hill and from the outside looked relatively normal however inside was stuffy, hot, and smelled off. I decided to give the floor a wipe with some Lysol wipes that I brought and the wipes were black after I was done. I do not believe that mopping and wipe downs are part of their cleaning process. The bathroom situation is wild at this “resort” porta potty’s at the top of the hill were relatively clean but to use the shower facilities you’re required to exit the campground area? Like what? They are disgusting to say the least. The actual bathrooms in the campground are a set of 5 toilets and sinks that is all. Picnic tables at our cabin were in rough shape and a portion was unusable d/t it being so warped. If travelling with small children the hill that this cabin is on creates a very uneven area around the campfire, it’s super dangerous and the chairs would often tip over bc of the angle you’re on. If travelling in the summer I suggest bringing a fan bc these cabins are in direct Sun and are hotter than hell inside. You also need to bring a small stove or bbq. I would like to note that Prior to leaving this public review we did email the campground directly with our concerns but have not had a response. My standards aren’t too high when it comes to camping but at $200/night this is unacceptable. Surely there are some health and safety violations here? I won’t be back and I have told lots of people how disgusting and run down...
