Great wifi and beds were comfy. Honestly the only thing I didn’t like was the cleanliness of the room. But that to me is the most important thing. And I’m not fussy. I actually went to the store and bought Lysol wipes to clean.. I realized the room was cheap so not being painted and not enough outlets and no fan or outlet in the bathroom was all acceptable, I felt, for the price. But I think no matter what the price the room should be clean. The microwave and mirrors were full of fingerprints. The remote had chocolate (I hope it was chocolate 😳) smeared all over it. In one side of the room the foor had a large area of something sticky which had collected a lot of hair, it looked like pop to me... we wore our flip flops the whole time in the room.) the floor needed to be moped. The microwave smelled of pizza pockets and the fridges freezer had a lot of ice build up so we could barely get anything in it. Then I found a half drank beer can sitting on the dresser!? How did that get missed.. I took it to the front desk and was told it would be reported to the daytime manager. In the morning I crossed paths with the person I handed the beer can with three times and he wouldn’t even look in my direction. A dandy long legs spider had made a home in the corner of the shower. My daughters bed had a huge amount of navy blue fuzz all over the bed sheets but there was nothing navy blue in the bed? 😟 Towels and pillowcases had stains. They are obviously making upgrades so perhaps these other things are being left go. Next time I will spend the extra $50 and stay where I don’t have to clean my room. I never requested a refund although I probably should have. I’ve posted this review on a couple web sites and received a comment back from the owner that I had requested a full refund for a free night and if he didn’t do it I would give him a bad review online... I never requested a refund and never even mentioned it. Perhaps I should have. I’m leaving my HONEST review of my situation. Read moreI never got to stay here is he tried to charge my card before I even checked in. When I got there, I had to ring the door bell, no one answered so I called said I was here to check in, asked my name and said I cancelled as your card was declined. Told him I pay with a different card then I book with as always let them know ahead of time. He said no you do not have a room, it was cancelled. I flew from Alberta to Nova Scotia . Would never recommend this place, seems very sketchy, the place is sketchy outside and he is rude!
Sorry it was not a pre authorization you were trying to put through, it was my full amount of my stay! and no where on booking.com was this stated. Sometimes one night is put through or an amount on hold as a deposit. But this was not my case with your hotel. I have never had an issue at any other hotel. Who takes the full payment before a person is checked in. Like I said I have 2 cards. I use one to book and no it’s not a fraudulent card it’s for in case there is fraudulent hotels! For this reason. There is a limited amount on it, for this reason!! Also check in is between 3-9pm you tried to charge my card at 1:43pm as it shows on my notifications. I arrived at 3:15pm and room was cancelled. About 4 hours before check-in, I received an email saying that my card was invalid and needed to be updated because I hadn't given my cvc number. Which I did when I booked it 2 weeks prior. I did go ahead and update. Once we arrived at the motel at 2:54 pm. We were greeted by a gentleman even before we were out of our vehicle with him stating in a rude voice that they were full for the night...my partner responded with we have already booked. The owner said, check in is at 3pm. I stated oh, so just let us turn around and park and it will be 3pm..he just turned around and walked away. After our experience with him even before we exited our vehicle, I decided to look for somewhere else to stay last minute as we were not happy with his approach. I went on booking.com to cancel the room and it stated that my booking had already been canceled by the property.....I'm assuming because of the credit card email. I have another booking for the same weekend with the same card in another province and have had no issues with that booking. We were able to find something else for accommodations within minutes and again, no issue regarding my credit card!! Needless to say, we will not be ever, never booking...
