Holiday Inn Express & Suites Moose Jaw, an IHG Hotel — Hotel in Moose Jaw

After a long day of driving. We are thankful to be able to get a room on short notice. We booked a room by phone an hour previous before our arrival. Check in was easy. Within minutes we were already in the room. This hotel is very clean other than the few things that I have mentioned in the photos attached to this review. The first thing you will notice when you enter the building is there is a broken floor tile as you enter the lobby. Just inside, past the front doors. Our room was very clean, except for the discolouration in the shower at the bottom near the floor drain.

The bed and pillows are very comfortable. We had a pleasant sleep after a long day of driving.

My wife did a Google review of this hotel the next morning. We have not checked out yet. After writing a google review about our stay. We received a knock on our room door. We had the sign placed on the handle of the door. “Please wait, we are busy” sign. So we found it odd that we were being disturbed. Neither my wife and I were ready to answer the door immediately. Shortly after the knock, we heard the sound of the electronic door lock being opened.

I was not decent. Therefore I could not answer the door. My wife was in the washroom. She had to quickly come out of the bathroom and answer the door because somebody was opening the door. It turned out to be hotel management. The person claiming to be the manager was inquiring about our stay in regards to the Google review. Asking why we were not happy. This is unsettling. The manager was trying to enter our room after we did not answer the door. Inquiring about why we were unhappy about our stay. I have since spoken to Holiday Inn hotel corporate. I have now filed a complaint with Holiday Inn...

We stayed in the Holiday Inn in Moose Jaw on our long drive from Ontario to Alberta and we could not have been more satisfied with our stay. We were exhausted after 2 solid days of driving across the country and this place was a godsend after a couple of less than comfortable stays on our trip. There is no way this hotel should be a 2 star, the room was huge, comfortable, and had all the mod cons. The free breakfast was pretty decent for the price we paid for the room. There wasn’t any room service for an evening meal but we just got a delivery to the hotel very easily.

Now the service…I can’t talk about this enough. Our cat went missing in the room and when I alerted the front desk, they were so helpful. She was extremely kind to my distressed boyfriend and came up to our room and managed to find him behind the sink. She brought up pieces of ham to coax him out and eventually let us take part of the sink apart. The manager was equally as kind when we came down with our cat in hand and said that maintenance would fix the sink for us. This service was beyond what we could have asked for and didn’t feel like we were in a chain, but a family run hotel with staff who cared. A chain hotel with a heart! We arrived around 3pm to check in. There was a line of 10+ other people checking in and 1 person working the desk. The pool was reportedly not working at the time, but it looked like a nice facility for kids and adults alike.

We got our room and we were put beside 2 rooms of young girls on the third floor who were loud, and obnoxious, slamming doors every 30 seconds while they went in between rooms.

Our room was beautiful. The design of the room considered a lot of fine details, like labeling the pillows 'soft' and "firm' on the pillow cases, USB ports on the night stands, lights built into the headboard, bench with a place to put your suit case and more. The bathroom has Dove branded soaps & lotions for your convenience. There was a drink vending machine and ice machine on our floor, and a snack bar at the main front desk.

Our neighbours came back around 3am and slammed doors and partied till about 4am when they finally settled down. While it is no fault of the hotel, the rest of the hotel seemed quiet so it would have been nice to be placed away from it.

The morning breakfast provided is really lovely. Lots of hot and cold items to choose from and a nice sitting area!
