Caraway Grill - Moose Jaw — Restaurant in Moose Jaw

5/5 stars. I was in heaven. I came into the moose jaw location tonight and I had such a good time. I ordered butter chicken, with rice and a masala chai tea. While waiting i received a complimentary Pakora ( i think) with Tamarind sauce. Wow, the sauce is so lovely.

Then my butterchicken and rice arrived and i was so blown away with the balance, the flavour and the amount of food i got for what i paid for. The sauce has so much depth, it was creamy and smelt incredible. It felt like i was eating the prettiest flowers with the happiest cow’s cream. It was just amazing. The rice was great too, had some form of fat ( butter, ghee margarine) and it was lovely, not over cooked or dry, or undercooked and crunchy. The chicken too is the supporting role, because its all about the sauce and wow it was good, but so was the chicken! Very tender, well salted and plentiful. Lastly, the Garlic Naan was good.

Lastly, the two people serving me, the lovely bearded man, and the lovely not bearded woman, sorry i did not get either of your names. You were both soft spoken and polite, and very pleasant. I promised you I’d leave a review so here you go.

I had been to caraway grill in Regina years ago and it was one of my favourite curry restaurants. We were in Moose Jaw and decided we’d try the newer location with high hopes. Not the case. First off, not kid friendly at all, only bar height tables and only had a high chair that was about 3 feet lower than the table and no booster seats for the booth. We ordered the lunch special, we got a veggie pakora for a starter and it was cold, tough, and tasted old, except one piece was a bit hot like it had been in the microwave. The curry did not have a lot of flavour or spice, it was very underwhelming compared to my previous experiences. Very bland, no spice despite asking for higher spice level. I recently ordered takeout from Caraway Grill and while the food was delicious, I was disappointed by the mix-up in my order and the lack of response from their customer service team.

When I placed my order, I specifically requested Madras Chicken and Chicken 65. However, upon receiving my order, I discovered that I had been given Butter Chicken and Tandoori Chicken instead. While both dishes were tasty in their own right, it was disappointing not to receive what I had initially craved and ordered.
