We got off our cruise, rented a car, & went directly to Bayview House where Colleen was still preparing the rooms for us & her other guests. I noticed that she washed all the dishes (even the clean ones in the cupboard), & asked her about this—she said, you pay good money, everything should be just right. Colleen let us wait on her patio for our friends to pick us up for lunch & touring. |Although Bay View House is in Point Gray area, we found it was not hard to get to any of the attractions we wanted to visit. |There are two suites at Bay View House with living areas, dining, kitchen, bedroom & bath. The rooms are nicely appointed & good size. The walk-in closet had plenty of hangers & there were shelves for other items in a separate area in the bedroom. The linens were very nice. |The bathroom was large & had storage as well as nice towels, hairdryer, shampoo & body wash. |The kitchen had a refrigerator, washer/dryer, stove/oven & dishwasher, toaster, dishes & some condiments, all for guest use. |Colleen made us a lovely breakfast each morning of eggs, bacon, toast, fruit, yogurt, & several veggies. She sent us off when we left with juice & cookies & had bottled water for us to take when we toured Vancouver. |Colleen keeps many fliers of things to do in Vancouver available. |There is onsite parking & safety was never a concern, nice part of town & gated. The gardens are beautiful. I asked Colleen if she did her own gardening & she said Yes, I am retired, but as hard as she works to keep the B&B in such great shape, I hardly think she is actually retired. We highly recommend Bay View House the next time you are...
Read moreWe stayed for 4 nights 28th june to 2nd July. The stay was excellent. Colleen the host is lovely, she cooks a nice breakfast and delivers it to your room. There is everything you will need in your room and all is pristine. The area is nice with a bus stop outside to take you in and out of Vancouver. We headed for Canada place at the waterfront every day and it was just 3 dollars on the bus. We didn't pick up a car till the end of our stay which worked out perfect as parking in the centre is very expensive. We used the hop on hop off tour bus the first day to see the city and get our bearings. Then free shuttle to Capilano and Grouse mountain on other days. We also walked around city and hired bikes to go along the sea wall. I would visit again and certainly stop at Bay view...
