TL;DR I would not recommend this hotel because of the general manager. Would give it 0 star if I can.
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights back in December 2023. The hotel and room themselves are clean and nicely maintained. The front desk staff are nice and friendly. However the General Manager, Carla, does not understand customer service at all.
We had an incident that the housing keeping staff barged into our room at 8:30 in the morning the day of our check out. We were still asleep. We are two women traveling in a foreign country and having a male house keeper unlocking our hotel room door and coming inside at 8:30am was extremely terrifying and unsettling.
We had informed the front desk the day before that we will be checking out at 2pm, and they noted it in the system. Please keep in mind that normal check out time is 12pm.
We informed the front desk immediately after the house keeper tried to come inside and they said that the situation had to be handled by the general manager. The front desk staff were apologetic. On the other hand, Carla, the general manager, was not. She started the conversation with no apology, instead she schooled us on the hotel policy of how house keeping starts at 8am and how we did not put the Do Not Disturb sign on the doorknob, thus, they had all the right to enter the room at 8:30am. I was extremely disappointed in her response and expressed my anger. Only then she offered to provide a shuttle service to the airport for us, but nothing else.
I would not recommend staying at this hotel because of it's management. I also feel bad for the hotel staff to have such a bad manager to deal with on the daily basis. I want to emphasize that all other staffers that we interacted with were lovely and helpful, except the general manager. Hopefully, you won't have to encounter anything like this, but I would never give business to this...
Read moreI spent 3 nights recently at this hotel. The location is great being nearby a metro stop and within reasonable walking distance to a number of places of interest. The hotel looks fine in the common spaces and I had a couple of good meals in the restaurant. The problem was with the a/c in the room. The first night it was not working, but I opened the window and pushed through. The next morning I let the front desk know that the a/c was not working and watched as it was noted on the maintenance sheet. When I returned late in the afternoon, there was no mention of anything being looked at, but he room was a bit cooler. It just warmed from that point onward and I had to open the window again. This would be OK except there was a lot of wildfire smoke, which came into the room. The next morning I spoke with the front desk manager. He assured me it would be looked at and if needed they would move me. When I returned late that afternoon it was apparent it was not working. The front desk manager on duty was aware there was an issue - he was the on duty maintenance person. After looking at the thermostat, he simply stated it was complicated. They did move me to another room, but this took a lot of persistence. It seems they had to know it was wrong after the first night (if not before) and yet strung me out. While I hope this is not the typical experience, it was...
Read moreI loved this hotel- the service is the clear standout here, every person at this hotel is amazing. Everyone at the front desk, concierge, doormen and breakfast staff make the hotel incredibly special and personal.
I stayed for three nights this month- the rooms are clean, the bed very comfortable. Shower pressure was good in my room. I also had a nice view of the mountains from my room.
Breakfast was excellent as well, totally stocked with everything you’d want. I’m not a big breakfast person but really enjoyed the meal there. The hotel bar tenders are super talented. I had a great pisco sour there. With more time I probably would’ve had a drinking night to start at that bar.
Location of the hotel is great. I felt very safe. There’s a nice coffee shop called elephant about 12 minutes walking from the hotel if you like a specialty coffee in the morning or afternoon.
As a globalist I got parking included with my stay.
My only issues were a non stocked mini bar, strange outlet positions in relation to the desk, made it difficult to charge my laptop or charge my phone close to what I set up my work station as in my room and a lack of adapters for us plugs to the Chilean ones. Really not that big of a deal so 5 stars all around.
Also the gym weights go to 25kilos (55 lbs) good for a quick lift. There are more complete gyms...
