Hotel Puerta del Lago — Hotel in Puerto Varas

Puerta del lago was a very comfortable stay. The hotel is located 10 minutes away from downtown (if walking you'll go up a slope, nothing terrible but might be a problem for elderly) and located in a very quiet area, despite being super close to everything. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was complete, with service to the table in a very efficient fashion. The rooms and bed were comfy.

But I really didn't like the lack of proper ventilation or AC. If you get the upper rooms in a hot summer day, the room will be extremely hot! There was a fan in one of the rooms we booked but not the other, and despite that a single fan wasn't...

I like the location being walkable to city center, but parking would be an issue if you prefer driving and walking could be difficult for individuals with physical restrictions. Our check in staff was as helpful as she could be with the language barrier. It was clean and we had a private bathroom, but small quarters and thin walls.
