Friends booked this hotel for us so I knew nothing before arriving. The location was convenient (two blocks up off of main area) but as I am recuperating from foot surgery, the climb was tough. The family that runs the hotel was extremely warm and welcoming. They must open the main door each time you arrive and always did so with a smile. Breakfast is in an expansive room (also a guest sitting room) with a pretty view - it was rainy but I imagine when clear it must be stunning. Options for breakfast were plentiful. As serious coffee drinkers we found it tough, as the coffee pots was empty and not refilled both mornings we were there - but there was Nescafe & tea. The Wifi in our room - #3 was fine. The room was spacious and perhaps dated but that was part of it's local charm. I would recommend requesting a room upstairs if noise bothers you. Our room was on the entry path, next to the parking & had footsteps overhead - nonetheless I am a sensitive sleeper and slept fine. In many ways this hotel reminded me of the hotels of my childhood in the UK. The dampness everyone complained about is life in the region. The best part about this hotel is the lovely women that run it, the easy parking and the central location near everything Puerto...
Read moreWe booked this hotel for three nights online, with bedandbreakfast.com which stated to include all taxes in the price. Upon arrival when paying the balance of our accommodation the hotel stated that they will only wave the 19% tax charge if you pay in US cash. Ridiculous.||The double room we had was very clean and spacious with good decent wifi and hot shower. ||The location is very good.||The breakfast is very good by Chilean free breakfast standard. We even were offered scrambled eggs one morning which was a delight.||The bed was the most uncomfortable we have stayed in so far, with the mattress actually half caved in so my husband was sleeping half a foot lower than me.||There is no sound insulation in the room so if you would like to go bed at a reasonable hour (before midnight) forget about it. From our room we could hear the tapping of the person in the room next door on their iPhone, every time someone walks around, snores, laughs or watches tv, we got to be included in that. If you can sleep heavily regardless of the noise and comfort then you will have...
Read moreWe booked this hotel unseen as the resort was busy so needed somewhere as we were travelling by bike. First the bad points; the walls between the room are paper thin and we could hear everything from the room next door and above. Next door had a TV on until late and when they turned it off there was noise from a local club or hostel until the early hours so little sleep. We didn't notice when we took the room that it was damp despite the warm dry spell when we were there. The sheets had a damp feel to them and there was the smell of mildew.||We cut short our stay and went to another hotel and had to negotiate getting some money back.||The hotel did have its good points; friendly staff, good breakfast and a lounge area overlooking the lake. ||However, the noise and damp made this an...
