Hostal Buenavista Patagonia — Hotel in Punta Arenas

Stayed here in November 2022, in a room with 3 twin beds for two people. The place is very clean and comfortable. The room had blackout curtains, which was very helpful because it was still bright outside when we slept at 9:30 PM.

The bathroom was clean. The shower had both the handheld and the rain shower faucets. The best part was the bath towel warmer ladder (?) which we were able to use to hang our small amount of hand washed laundry to dry for the next day.

Breakfast was filling. Ham and cheese sandwich, sweets, cereal, milk, yogurt, tea, coffee, apples, bananas, etc. The owner, Evelyn, seem to live next door and can help you if you need anything. She even helped another group of visitors book Penguin Tours for the next day.

Stayed here for 3 nights in December 2023. Fantastic and friendly host who went above and beyond to work with our schedule. Breakfasts were good and varied. Room was spotless and very comfortable with plenty of space. View on the balcony was fantastic, we enjoyed that multiple times. Location is easy enough to walk to different parts of town, including the bus station. The hill could be challenging for people with mobility issues to walk up.

Beware of this hotel scamming you. They dont have a night reception, so if your flight gets delayed or you get stuck and arrive after 22:30 they wont check you in and you will not have anywhere to sleep for the night- they dont care (this really happened to us first night we arrived on 3 March 2024). If you book through online booking portal, they will still charge your credit card for the booking though- so you stay without accommodation and without your money too.
