Ibis Beijing Jianguomen — Hotel in Beijing

Our flight was delayed so we arrived at the hotel just before 7:00 pm and were told our rooms had been let to somebody else because we were late. The booking had been guaranteed by my credit card but the hotel said they could not honor that because the website did not transfer a deposit to them. The booking was made from the Ibis website. Fortunately we had a Chinese friend with us as there was nobody at the desk who spoke English. Our Chinese friend shamed them into finding us two rooms. These rooms were not the standard of rooms we had booked. Also we had booked three rooms so two people who had expected to have their own rooms had to share (1 man, 1 woman). It's basic as every IBIS with 7th and 8th floors of a large building! Basic but clean functional rooms , very well located between line 1 Yong'anli and line 2 Jianguomen of the beijing subway stations.||The surrounding restaurants are very good, and it also has a convenient located supermarket next door.||||Check-in staff that do not speak a word of English, and will ask a deposit of 2000RMB in credit card||||During my stay the front desk and doors were under construction, so the mess was huge.||Some rooms face the north and south streets with nice windows, but the interior rooms just have a small interior window.||||This option is just for a bedroom and a shower in the middle of Beijing, do not expect to have more than this, so the price is also accordingly usd50.||I recommend if the idea is to came to Beijing and be...

Our rooms were simple and clean. The hotel is conveniently located close to the subway station and nearby to Ri Tan park. It is within walking distance of Beijing railway station. Be prepared for some potential difficulties if you do not speak Chinese as there isn't always English speaking staff available. There is also a disconnect between the information on the hotel website and the reality of the hotel. The staff will try to accommodate you as best as possible but if you are able to call ahead, it would best to confirm details. American travelers would find the quality of this hotel...
