那家小馆 — Restaurant in Beijing

Some of the best service I've ever received in a Chinese restaurant, and damn good food as well.

There was quite a line when I arrived, but the line was processed orderly and efficiently. Better yet, while I sat waiting, servers offered refreshments and snacks. Most impressively, when I was seated, the hostess gave me a card to give my waitress, which entitled me to a special something on the house to apologize for the wait. Now, in my case, I ended up getting a plate of dense cakes of some sort, which I didn't particularly care for, but it's the thought that counts.

This is the first time I've ever been to a Manchurian restaurant I believe.

老宅咸鸭: Nicely smokey duck slices. 老北京薄饼焖鹿腩: Visually very impressive. The braised chunks of deer went well with the potatoes stewed with them. 古书羊排: Fantastic, and my favorite of the dishes. Juicy lamb chops, with a dipping seasoning that reminded me very much of the flavors...

I've been coming here since 2010, good decent place to eat. If you don't have a reservation try and go a tad before or after usually eating time, if not this place gets utterly packed so good luck getting a seat. Beijing/Manchurian menu.
