I stayed here for 14 days as part of a study trip, and overall it has been a good experience. The hotel is located down a somewhat dark and quiet street, and at first glance you might wonder if you are in the right place. Then a modern and stylish hotel suddenly appears, which is a pleasant surprise. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and genuinely committed to making your stay comfortable, and they always do their very best to assist with anything you might need. The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped. Even if you book a single room, you still get a large double bed, which is fantastic. The bedding is excellent, the duvets are warm, and there is a generous selection of pillows, including both memory foam and traditional options, so it is easy to find something that suits you. The bathroom has everything you may need: body lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, and there is plenty of hot water in the shower. The heated toilet seat is a surprisingly luxurious detail that adds comfort. There are, however, a couple of weaknesses worth mentioning. Many rooms occasionally have an unpleasant sewer smell. The staff try to address it, and they do take it seriously, but unfortunately the issue tends to reappear. In addition, there is no wardrobe or dedicated space for clothing, only a small shelf and a few hangers. For a longer stay, this becomes impractical. There is also no desk for working, although there is a small sofa and tea table, and the room includes tea- and coffee-making facilities. Another area where the hotel clearly has potential for improvement is the fitness room. It is placed on the ground floor in what appears to be part of the laundry area, and the environment does not feel inviting. The space is cramped, the atmosphere is uninspiring, and several of the machines either did not work properly or felt outdated. It almost seems like the fitness facilities have not been given any real priority, which is a shame, because in every other aspect the hotel strives to offer a pleasant and well-thought-out experience. Under different and more motivating conditions, I am sure more guests would use it. On the positive side, there are several lounge areas throughout the hotel where guests can freely enjoy tea, coffee, water and small snacks. This feels welcoming and generous. The breakfast buffet is very good and offers a nice mix of Asian and Western dishes. If you go early in the morning, it can be quite crowded with tour groups, and this affects the atmosphere a little, although the staff are quick to restock and do their absolute best to keep everything running smoothly. The biggest downside of the stay was the Wi-Fi. It was consistently slow and unreliable, which is a real challenge if you need to work online. Improving this would make a significant difference for business travellers and longer stays. All in all, this is a friendly and comfortable hotel with kind and hardworking staff. With improvements to the Wi-Fi, some attention to the occasional room odor issue, and a meaningful upgrade of the fitness facilities, this place could easily reach a higher level and become an excellent choice for both short and long...
Read moreMy fiancée and I stayed for two nights at the SSAW Garden Hotel Beijing. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms are very comfortable. However, our experience was spoiled by one staff member on Sunday evening (21st Oct). As we approached the front desk to ask a question, he interrupted us and said, “We’re fully booked,” without even letting us speak. His rudeness and unprofessional attitude left us very disappointed and unfortunately overshadowed an otherwise pleasant stay.
Another issue was the breakfast time. It starts at 7 a.m., which is quite late for travelers needing an early departure. When we asked the front desk for help, they simply told us that we had “booked too late,” rather than offering any solution.
In contrast, the staff on Saturday (20th Oct) were friendly and professional. Although we noticed the bathtub hadn’t been cleaned, the lady who delivered extra toilet paper to our room was so kind and helpful that we decided to overlook it—and even considered returning in the future.
Unfortunately, after our experience on Sunday, we are reconsidering. To add to the disappointment, the general manager’s WeChat QR code seems pointless, as no response was...
Read more1st time in China! Very kind, friendly and helpful staff. Some of them speak good English. They helped me with the self service laundry, and with setting up screen casting in our room for a Chinese TV series. Lovely building, lobby, breakfast area, rooms. Breakfast is amazing - a wide variety of delicious food. Mainly Chinese but also western style options. Very well situated; there are several very worthy local restaurants a short stroll away (but you need to speak some Chinese for them). A short stroll away from the Lama's temple. ||Our room smelled of cigarettes when we arrived. we were tired from travelling so didn't think of asking for another room. After quite a lot of airing it was OK though. The system for lighting and window blinds in the room was overly complicated but fine when you get the hang of it. And there are mosquitoes in Beijing so you need to keep the mosquito screens shut when you...
