Holiday Inn Express Chengdu Tianfu Square — Hotel in Chengdu

Our choice of accommodation for our stay here in Chengdu, and got the chance to experience 2 different rooms since we took a trip out to Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou towards the end of the trip.

🛏️ room wise, the first stay for 3 nights was vastly larger than the last night, and much quieter in terms of road noise and air conditioning - it might have been a different facing altogether, but our first room 8220 had little to no road noises, with the second room 8436 being very noisy and has a constant ticking (switch flickering sound) from the air conditioning switch whenever the room temperature fluctuates..

🥡 interestingly, they do adopt a robot for food deliveries, a mainstay in IHG hotels seemingly across Chengdu - having also seen one in JZG Hilton Garden Inn. The front desk would gladly provide you with a China mobile number if you require one to place orders on Meituan. Definitely a must try since it’s totally contactless!

🗺️ the location was fairly good since it’s pretty much in central Chengdu, walking distance to the People Park, Kuan Zai Alley and Tianfu Square - and just 5-10 minutes ride to Chenxi Road where all the major shopping malls and eateries are located. It is fairly easy to hitch a ride on any ride hailing platform too. Separately, do note that their Google Map location is wrong as with many other places, do refer to Baidu for a more accurate pin.

While it’s a very affordable hotel with many pluses, there might be a hit and miss in terms of rooms and we were very lucky to have gotten a good room on our first stay. Definitely one to consider if you are...

I had a wonderful experience when I stepped into this Chengdu TianFu Holiday Inn Express when I was in panicky and desperate mode seeking someone at this late hour checking in and found out that I had left my files and important documents at TianFu Intl Airport when I just arrived about 2 hours ago! Am so glad your front desk staff by the name of Justin who’s on night shift then, calmly picked up the phone and called the airport personnel in charge, helping me to locate and track if anyone were to have seen my belonging at the airport Arrival Hall Customer Service Desk. Justin was so kind assuring me it’ll be taken care of and as true to his words, the airport staff handed over to courier service and had my lost belonging ready for pick up the next day. The hotel helped me to pay for the courier service 1st while I had to be away next day on a day trip outside the city. That’s so so wonderful and I can’t thank Holiday Inn staff and Justin for that...

We had an amazing experience staying at the Holiday Inn Express Chengdu Tianfu Square from April 4 to April 6, 2025. The location is fantastic, with easy access to the vibrant Kuanzhai Alley and other attractions in Chengdu. The metro station, located just 500 meters away, was an added convenience, though we primarily opted for Didi taxi service during our visit to Chengdu. The highlight of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the moment we arrived, they were welcoming, attentive, and eager to assist with any requests. The breakfast offered a decent variety of options, with both local and international choices. It was a great way to start our day, and the quality of the food was quite satisfying.Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Chengdu.
