Chengdu Desti Youth Park Hostel — Hotel in Chengdu

The description on our booking said there were fridges and washer/dryer facilities in the room. This is not the case. We had a small double room which was clean and functional but had no extra facilities. There is a women’s only floor with a shared laundry room but it was rammed and you could get anywhere near. We got the reception to organise some washing for us. We were told approximately 50 CYN. On return the 6 items we were charged 190….. for laundry that wasn’t even hung but badly folded in a plastic carrier bag! We have stayed in 5 star hotels in other parts of China and were charged less than half as much. |Breakfast was included a croissant or a bagel and a selection of drinks but you were only allowed one drink so couldn’t have coffee and orange even if you offer to pay they say no for some strange reason. |The location is very good right in the middle of loads of shops and places to eat, just a bit difficult for taxis to find as it’s just an elevator door down a...

I really liked this hostel. I stayed in the female-only four-bed room on a mixed floor. The bed cubbies were cute. The bedding was clean and comfy. There was a nice little fold away table attached to the wall, a private light switch for the cubby and there was a plug socket with usb ports too. Very convenient. The personal locker was excellent and secure for my stay. They were happy to store luggage in their storeroom after I'd checked out. I liked the bar downstairs and the barman was friendly. The shower was nice and they provided shower gel, shampoo and a towel which was great. The location was fantastic with lots of things happening all around. They had a cute dog to welcome you. Definitely would stay here again or in one of their other branches (as it's a chain around...
