Greenland Business Hotel — Hotel in Chengdu

As part of a tour we were booked in at this hotel. I think I would describe it as clean and comfortable but very tired in appearance. There were several steps leading up to the entrance without handholds but a porter available to help with luggage. In the room we played with the light switches to find out what lit what for some time and the safety light on all night by the bathroom, was maybe helpful for those night trips but not so helpful if you were trying to sleep on the side right by it! The shower was not brilliant but after some comments to the right people it was dramatically improved. Breakfast was not a great experience unless you ate Chinese style. Organised as part of a tour. Corner room on 30th floor, spacious and lots of natural light. Able to open windows which was needed because air conditioner was stuck on 26 degrees for the whole time and wouldn't budge despite setting lower temperature on control panel. Bath/shower combo which had a high step, and not very functional as shower managed to flood bathroom despite our best efforts in positioning the (old) shower curtain. Bed mattress was hard. Breakfast offering was best we had in China although beware that seating is limited in peak times and you will have people claim unoccupied chairs on your table. Staff were pleasant to deal with. Durante il mio recente soggiorno a Chengdu, ho alloggiato complessivamente 4 notti al Green Land e lo considero un'ottima scelta per i seguenti aspetti:||è molto pulito ed ha ambienti ampi (la hall è spaziosa ed elegante), i servizi sono da quattro stelle occidentale: personale solerte e disponibile nel portare i nostri numerosi bagagli in stanza (e riportarli giù durante il check out), una colazione degna di nota ove non mancano anche piccoli accenni di alimenti non strettamente cinesi (marmellata e toast, torte,... aspetti non scontati in Cina, specie in provincia anche in hotel di livello superiore). Consegna del quotidiano in camera (rigorosamente scritto tutto in Cinese).||Apprezzabile la presenza di ristoranti sia cinesi che "di stile occidentale" (non lo abbiamo provato ma la disponibilità è da considerarsi un servizio per chi ha difficoltà con la cucina cinese o quantomeno, ha "nostalgia di casa"). All'interno dell'hotel sono anche presenti alcuni negozietti con souvenir o beni di prima necessità, come anche un bancomat (comodissimo!).||||Sulle stanze abbiamo avuto esperienze diverse: durante il nostro secondo soggiorno abbiamo avuto una stanza un po' meno spaziosa (anzi, nel complesso strettina per essere una doppia) ma nuovissima, pulita e con un bagno rinnovato, al contrario della prima volta dove, a dispetto dei maggiori spazi, il bagno risultava evidentemente obsoleto. Chiedete del 27* piano : è sicuramente stato ristrutturato! se siete in due è preferibile chiedere una stanza con due letti: sono più spaziose.||||Una nota positiva merita la graziosa sala da thè al piano attico, aperta fino a tarda notte, dove potrete anche ammirare le luci di alcuni grattacieli vicini.||||Infine, il Green Land conferma il lato più critico del viaggiare in Cina per i turisti occidentali: il personale parla pochissimo (direi spesso per nulla) Inglese, ma alla reception si sforzeranno ugualmente di assistervi al meglio, sia pure con un inglese sofferto.||Una scelta...
