Room: fair to good - clean, spacious, good lights, hot and strong shower water, standard bathroom amenities, lots of Chinese channels on IPTVBreakfast: fair to good, limited variety but ok tasting - 1 small table of assorted bread/pastries, 1 type of meat (tasty fried chicken pieces), 1 type of noodles, Chinese salad, hard boiled eggs, sweet potato, congee, soup, milk, tea, orange juice, coffee machine, and pretty much that's it. Overall, decent enough flavor like beginner's home cooking level.Location: 5 mins walk to Grandview shopping centre. Lots of good stuff in the area. Not so good: a little old, not super refined, bed was too soft, sofa was too soft, no desk in "executive" roomService: They said they "upgraded" us but the room looked like it was 1 grade lower on this website, not really a big deal as it was still an ok room. Overall, pleasant and competent staff, no screw ups, although our stay didn't present them with any challenges or surprises so it's unknown how competent they are at problem solving.Value: a little overpriced unless you absolutely have to be within 300m of this exact location.Would I book again? : Yes, if I needed to be in this exact location. That said, the area is fantastic so it'd be perfectly fine to book elsewhere in the neighborhood and enjoy...
Read moreI think it's difficult to find detailed reviews about the place so I would like to take the opportunity to help others out.To start, I am not a picky person I can tolerate quite a bit while traveling. Sounds and smells don't bother me too much. So Take what I say with discretion. Due to the peak season of Canton Fair, we were "gently" encouraged to upgrade our rooms which we did but it wasn't too much. Maybe about total additional of 52 dollars for 2 double bed rooms for 4 nights. The staff is friendly but speaks limited english save for their boss. They do have a translation app and will try their best to help. The hotel does have a slight musty smell but nothing to be bothered by. The room is spacious. Furniture is a bit dinged up. The towels are changed daily, and the bed is very soft and clean. The bathroom was sizeable but there was a bit of water damage to the ceiling. The breakfast buffet was decent. 20% western food and 80% Chinese food. They had a bit of yogurt and bread but no butter. I think you can request for it, but I was very satisfied with the congee, soup, boiled sweet potatoes, and dimsum. There is only one bus time for the canton fair so if you miss it, you miss it.Overall we had a very pleasant experience but again, if you're looking for a good place to, stay it's...
Read moreThe hotel is clean but it's old. Old furniture. At the beginning I thought it was nice when it smelled of jasmine tea everywhere, including my room. A few minutes later this started to annoy me, I couldn't smell anything around me but that jasmine. I had to open all windows and turn on a fan, then it helped. The ladies at reception don't smile, it's ok maybe they're busy, but they also don't greet you when you enter the hotel. Also they asked me to fill some paper for foreigners, it's ok, it took me a couple of minutes but other hotels NEVER asked me to do that, so why does your hotel need that then?I liked the location, very close to a beautiful shopping mall, subway and lots of restaurants around. Also, the room was quite spacious and with an unusual layout, but they need to renovate their hotel,...
