I stayed there for 3 nights last week. The hotel was nice, clean and modern. Good decoration. Good breakfast. Good location. There was 1 small but modern shopping mall beside the hotel, and 2 big department stores on the opposite side. It's close to lady fashion street as well (5 minutes walk). Walking to West Lake would take 20 minutes.||||Room size was big enough. However, we had a twin room but the bed size was small (4 feet in width). They could actually put in 2 x queen size beds and still had plenty of room space left. The room was facing a big street and therefore still very noisy even in 17th floor. Besides, the bed was too hard.||||One strange thing was that, the staffs did not allow us to take photos in the hotel. If they wanted free promotion, they should let their guests to take photos so that they could share with others.||||The staffs at the concierage were not helpful. We booked a taxi to the airport. When a taxi arrived at the hotel entrance, we were not sure whether or not the taxi was the one we had reserved. The staffs were not helping us at all. When we took our luggages to the taxi, they were just standing there. Some other hotel guests shouted to them and instructed them to help us. At the end, the taxi driver came and help us out politely. ||||One thing worth to mention. Taxi drivers in Hangzhou were very nice. We took taxi a few times. All the drivers were very polite...
Read moreThe official name of this hotel is Zhejian Grand Hotel. This is a very new hotel in the city center. The reception is in the 25th floor (which is a bit odd and not all that efficient) and behind it is the bar which stays open until 23:00 and is very expensive and small but nice. English is always a big problem in China, so expect to have difficulty communicating. However, online translators and pictures will do the trick. ||||The rooms are spatious and clean and so is the bathroom. The fridge was locked and we asked them to unlock it, but we had the same issue in Beijing, so maybe it is a Chinese thing. The wifi was free and relatively strong. ||||The breakfast area was vast and luxurious. The breakfast itself was very good and clean, with lots of variety (perhaps the international section could be expanded a little bit). Dinner was also very good.||||The location is very good as it is situated near shopping malls on a commercial street in the city center. It is also very close to the West Lake which is perhaps the major attraction...
Read moreOur travel agent arranged this hotel for us.It’s 4 star and in many ways it was. This is a 3.5 rating. Our room was spacious, hotel was well located and breakfast was satisfying. It was better than a couple of “4 star” that we stayed in. It’s a weird set up for foreign travelers. As you enter the spacious lobby from the street, there is a desk and a couple of uniformed folks standing there but they speak no English. You really have yo spot the sign that tells you reception is on the 25 floor. This is super inconvenient when you have questions, need info Etc to |Have to go up to 25. Staff was not super helpful but hope it was just the language barrier. My big beefs were two— superficially our room was great except the shower tile along the bottom was teeming with mildew and the walls and floors were paper thin and whomever was above us was practicing a tumbling act all night long or experiencing one heck of a romp. Walls the same way, we could hear ppl next...
