Avoid this place at all cost
Ordered a cappuccino, salmon cream cheese bagel and french toast:
More than a 30 minute wait for the food to arrive Coffee was poison; half the cup comprised foam Bagel was rock solid and white; who knew it was possible to get something so simple so wrong French toast was horrid; french toast was hard and served with a pathetic amount of maple syrup but inordinate amount of jam; “fresh fruit” here equates to 6 pomegranate and scrapings of mango! Massively overpriced; fair enough if the food/drink is good, but clearly the proprietor believes it is entirely justified by the beach-side location Horrific overall customer service; one of the worst dining experiences in recent memory; all would have been rectified if the customer service was at least good, but staff were defensive and robotic I was still charged for the french toast even though I returned it; further evidence of the poor customer service Business wouldn’t survive a month if located...

10% service charge on a bill of nearly $500 even though we sat ourselves, collected our own menus, ordered at the till, had to come up to return our disappointing orders, and paid at the till.
We were served iced coffees that came to us as lukewarm milk. Upon tasting, we returned them, requested ice, and queried the staff as to whether there was any coffee in them at all. They told us they would add "more ice" (more than none?) and a shot for an extra cost. The eggs benedict arrived, consisting of 1 slice of stale toast and 1 piece of fat with a hint of bacon as a base for the eggs. For one of the most expensive things on the menu at $130, that is an insane mark-up. Not sure how they managed to mess a bagel up, but that too was stale.
A total waste of $494, unfortunately can't recommend this...
Read morePause is a good little cafe and coffee shop on Chung Hoi Street near the Silvermine Beach Resort in Mui Wo. It is around 6-7 minute walk from the ferry pier. They are open from 7am to 5pm daily and have a simple but nice inside seating area with relaxed environs. There are a few outdoor tables as well.
Menu features a range of simple breakfast and brunch style food items along with coffee, non-coffee, wine and beer options. During a recent morning visit, I had their ricotta on sour dough that tasted just fine. My macchiato was very good, a good coffee drink with the right amount of milk and foam to balance the good espresso flavour.
Overall, Pause Cafe is a good morning option for light meal prior beginning hikes in this area of Lantau Island as well as for anyone staying at one of the properties near the...
