On the offset, there was a dispute in price when they charged way higher than what was in stated in the hotel confirmation email.

Despite showing them the email confirmation of the discrepancy in price, they insisted their rate is correct and refused to double check with their reservations team stating the person in charge is not available to provide a solution.

When asked if we are able to cancel our reservation due to the price discrepancy, they initially mentioned they are able to and then later informed us that they will charge the card used to reserve the booking.

The entire check in process was a 2 hour nightmare with the front desk agent Freya Lee shouting at us.

This hotel holds your credit card and you under duress. No resolution was provided so please stay at your own risk!

On to the hotel room, it’s extremely dated and small. The toilet taps does not have water running out of the taps and the carpet is sticky. Corridors are dark and dingy. Certainly not deserving of its price. You are off better with Marriott and Conrad at the same price

Ich war hier über ein Wochenende und habe das Hotel als sehr gut empfunden. Ein Mitarbeiter im Eingangsbereich war sehr aufmerksam und zeigte mir gleich zu Beginn die Fahrstühle in die Lobby. Der CheckIn ging schnell und einfach. Leider sind die Fahrstühle aber etwas langsam.||||Mein Zimmer war in der 42. Etage, es war relativ klein, da ich nur ein "Deluxe" Zimmer gebucht hatte. Das Bad war dafür angenehm groß, es gab eine extra Dusche und eine Badewanne, welche aber auch für mich (181cm) zu klein war. Pflegeprodukte gab es natürlich auch, vorallem die Zahnbürsten haben mir sehr gut gefallen, sowas vergisst man doch mal schnell zuhause. Das Bett war gut, die Aussicht aus dem Fenster war auch gut, auch wenn das Fenster etwas dreckig war. Das Internet im Zimmer hat auch funktioniert. Es ist für Hotelgäste kostenlos, man hat ein eigenes WLAN im Zimmer und einen LAN-Anschluss inkl. Kabel. Der Fernseher hat für China erstaunlich viele englischsprachige Programme.||||Wie überall in China sollte man lieber nicht zu genau hinsehen. Zum Beispiel im Bad, es ist zwar allgemein Sauber und ordentlich, aber manche Spaltmaße zum Beispiel an den Fugen am Spiegel sind nicht okay für ein 5* Hotel. Auch der Duschkopf war schon etwas verkalkt. Ebenso ist das Telefon einfach viel zu alt, das benutzt man nicht gerne. Auch die Minibar ist ziemlich laut, hat dafür aber gut gekühlt. Man kann sie einfach nachts auf 0 drehen und dann hat man seine Ruhe. Im Großen und Ganzen sind das aber keine bedeutenden Mängel, da sonst alles funktioniert hat.||||Der Hotelpool ist gut, nicht sehr groß, aber ganz nett eigentlich. Er ist für Hotelgäste kostenlos, solange man eine Schwimmkappe mitbringt (man kann vor Ort aber sicher eine kaufen). Das Frühstück ist ziemlich reichhaltig und auch ziemlich westlich, auch wenn es natürlich viele chinesische Speisen gibt. An meinem ersten Morgen wurde ich sehr freundlich begrüßt, man zeigte mir kurz die verschiedenen Angebote und gab mir dann einen guten Tisch am Fenster. Die Bar in der Lobby war leider immer leer. ||||Allgemein ist das Personal auch sehr freundlich, auch wenn - wie überall in China - nicht gut Englisch gesproch wurde. Meine Bestellung von Eiswürfeln, die eigentlich kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt werden, konnte nicht aufgenommen werden, da ich mich am Telefon nicht verständlich machen konnte.||||Die Lage das Hotels ist auch gut, da es am Ausgang 20 der U-Bahnstation Xinjiekou liegt vonwo man überall schnell hinkommt. Auf die Frage nach einem Supermarkt konnte mir der Concierge im Eingangsbereich des Hotels gut helfen. Dort hat man auch mein Gepäck gelagert, als ich am Abreisetag nochmal in einem Museum war.||||Alles im allen ein gutes Hotel, in dem man sich auch als Ausländer wohl fühlt, solange man keine übermäßigen Ansprüche hat. I usually enjoy staying at Crowne plaza very much and this wasn't bad but more in the lower end of good compared to other CP's I have been to. You have to take the elevator up to 7th floor to get to the reception and where the hotel's first floor is. Check-in went fine and I was upgraded but I was a bit disappointed when I came to the room only to realize it was a fairly small room compared to what I have been used to and people have been smoking in there. You can sense it even though the room was cleaned. The breakfast is ok, mostly chinese food but also some continental for variety.
