I’ve stayed here before many times over the last 3 years. This would normally be our hotel chain of choice based on price point and amenities. The room smelt like an airport smoking room on a bad day. I thought about accepting it as I was tired and it was late but the air conditioning in the rooms on floor 2 are also not good. Noisy neighbours, screaming kids and families sharing multiple rooms next to each leaving the doors open made the experience even more unpleasant. I had to wait 30 minutes for a new room in a grotty reception area with broken seats. After asking for a refund, I got upgrade to a decent room on the 6th floor. Clean and no smell. Breakfast is good here and much better than in other Chinese Campanile hotels- European breakfast choices are all available: pain au chocolate (etc), butter, milk, acceptable fruit juice etc. There are hotels in this area of a higher quality that provide the same for around 1/2 the price. It’s worth trying the Chinese brands. This stay was expensive as I bought it last minute- next, I’ll choose a different hotel. Key point: if you do book here in advance, you can get a better deal and better rooms- request a non smoking quiet room. If you do stay here, the location is excellent. The LV ship is 1 metro stop away. There are plenty of museums within 5 minutes walking distance and you can walk along the canal to the Bund...

The hotel room is large and the beds are confortable. The only issue I had was that our room smelled of cigarette smoke when we got back and I asked the front desk to let us change rooms. Initially, they wanted us to sleep in the room for the night and change tomorrow. I insisted that we cannot sleep with the smell of cigarette smoke as we are alresdy having headache with the smell. That is when they told us that we can transfer to another room. Just a little disappointed with the service that they were not proactive to let us change rooms or get rid of the smell. The location has a great view of the river, but a little walk from the train station. They have free water bottles that you can request and the robot will come up to your door to deliver. Sometimes, the AI will not understand you and will just be quiet. So hopefully, this will improve and AI will respond that it does not understand instead of just giving the silent treatment. They also have free candies, teas, and amenity kits like comb, toothbrush, toothpaste etc. which you can freely get from the lobby. They also have vendo machines for drinks, instant noodles and some table games at the...

Very nice room. It is good no-frill hotel just that its location is not great

Pros: Nice and good size room. Being a new hotel, spotless.

Good staff. Staff are comfortable in English if this is important for you.

Cons: Location a) It is not in any main area such as Bund or People's square. May be that is reason for it being about 20% cheaper than Campanile Bund.

b) It is about 800 meter from 'Natural History Museum' metro line so connectivity is not an issue as such.

c) The hotel is not on road but behind another building. Taxi does not come at its reception but drop/pick at the road which is about 15 meters away. Take care of it.

Breakfast: Continental as well as Chinese. As expected from such hotel. Nothing exceptional to mention but no complain either.

They accept MasterCard too.

I am unlikely to pick it again because its location does not suit me. I picked it because 'Campanile Shanghai Bund Hotel' wan't available. However, I am still rating it 5 star because of good room and slightly lower price which compensates disadvantage of...

We stayed here our first visit to Shanghai. The value is exceptional- friendly and helpful staff, great rooms and accomodations. Lobby is great to hang out in and we enjoyed the restaurant and bar. The French flair was exquisite, we loved the food. Compliments to the chef! The hotel itself is a bit out of the main part of the city, tucked in a quieter side. It's an easy walk to a metro station and not far from the Natural History Museum and Nanjing pedestrian street shops and dining. If you enjoy walking through the city like we did, you'll find it perfect. We were able to walk to and from the rail station from here as well. Some taxis and Didi drivers did have a hard time finding the exact address because the hotel is tucked in an alley but standing further out from the entrance on the main road to meet our drivers solved all this. I'd highly recommend this place and would absolutely stay again!

rooms are small no proper seating except a flimsy plastic chair a tiny desk so if you need serious laptop work rather a nuisance . one of the wall plug defective couldn’t use to charge any devices , room had a weird smell when entering. the whole place is supposed to be modern and “ hip” but staff is clueless couldn’t find the reservation took a long time to check in and very annoyed they could not provide a proper invoice just some wechat image in chine which is useless if you travel for work and need to claim back, nearby metro line 2 is nice though easy to reach transport. overall i don’t think will stay again

This hotel has an **excellent location**, **spacious rooms**, and **outstanding service**—especially in cleanliness and reception. The breakfast offers a good variety, though it’s more suited to Asian tastes. We ended up eating mostly salads, eggs, and fruit each morning. A nice touch is the **complimentary tea available all day**. Overall, a **very good hotel** that I’d recommend! ( no internet without VPN )
