Green Court Residence City Center Hotel is in gist, a decent hotel that is value for money. The receptionist staff are generally friendly and possessing good attitude in serving. Our room is adequately spaced and tidy, with clean and comfortable beds, spotless bathroom, and a small kitchenette. They do dispense free slippers, toiletries, and 2 bottles of free water (each day). This hotel does all the in-house travel research in a thick and comprehensive guide book placed on our table (even though we don’t need it). It contains the telephone numbers and locations of various travel attractions, temples, restaurants, museums, and even hospitals (in case of emergency). Our room was cleaned, and bed sheets changed and tidied on a daily basis. There is hot shower available 24/7 too. ||||Though there is a TV set airing free programs to watch, we were slightly disappointed that there wasn’t Chinese period drama shows during our stay for entertainment, unlike our previous trip in other countries. However, I was glad there is TV5 Mode (French channel) installed to learn French. Moreover, we were pleased that we were able to deposit our delivered goods via this hotel, such as our online purchased theater ticket, tailored clothes, and spectacles. ||||We stayed in this hotel for 10 nights and we were given 10 free breakfast vouchers for each day for 1 person. As there were 2 of us, we decided to alternate our dined-in breakfast day to eat 5 breakfast meal for 2 persons, an advice given by the receptionist to avoid additional payment. On our first dined-in breakfast, we personally felt that the range of food was barely adequate for vegetarian. I mainly indulged in toasted bread with butter, fruits, available finger food and eating plain soup noodles. The breakfast might be slightly luxurious for those who are non-vegetarians. Nevertheless, the restaurant was spacious and well-decorated to induce a feeling of comfort and deluxe. ||||This hotel has tight security in place, as outsiders are strictly not allowed to access any visitors’ floor. Even guest who paid for the stay could only access his/her own designated floor and gym level, and no other levels using the given hotel room cum lift card, which has access restriction feature. ||||This hotel is located within 15-minute walk from People’s Square train station and opposite Marriott Hotel. There is a MacDonald nearby, and it is surrounded by many other high-end hotels. The two nearest vegetarian restaurants are Godly Vegetarian restaurant of different branches (Huanghelu AND Nanjing West Road branch) and is within 15-minute and 25-minute walk respectively. ||||The general décor of this hotel is quite impressive for the price we paid, and there is a soft scent of perfume upon entering the entrance door. The paintings outside the lift are very colourful and beautiful while the wall mural outside our room is interesting – human with dog head as the subject. ||||On our last day of check-out, we were allowed to deposit our luggage in a room, and to book the return pick-up car to airport with Marriott hotel (as Green Court Hotel does not offer this service). This suggestion was told by a security guard of Green Court Hotel, and was followed by most of the guests. ||||All in all, we have decided to certainly return to this hotel in our future trip to Shanghai again, provided there isn’t any...

We stayed at Green Court Residence City Center Shanghai during our visit to China in early December. As what many others in TripAdvisor have already mentioned before, the main reason why we chose to stay in this hotel is mainly for its location to People's Square Metro Station and nearby attractions, such as the Nanjing Road Shopping Street. These are within about 5 to 10 minutes of a walk from the hotel.||||Our hotel room was very clean with the usual stuff such as bathroom slippers, bathing essentials and bottled drinking water provided. The room itself is quite spacious with a small kitchen and was located on the middle floors of the hotel. The toilet bowl was quite an advanced one with many buttons at the side, like those we had seen in Taiwan or South Korea. We were fortunate to have a room window with decent views of the nearby surroundings. Wi-Fi is provided, but we did not use it as we would not able to access sites such as Facebook, Instagram etc due to the Great Firewall of China. There are a fair bit of TV channels to watch, such as the usual BBC and CNN, but the majority of them are Mainland Chinese channels in Mandarin language.||||The hotel does provide breakfast, but we only got to try it three times due to our schedule. I would say that the food wise is catered more towards the Asian palate, so Westerners or those looking for Western food might not like the food a lot. In any case, there are nearby food options if one does not like the hotel breakfast, such as Mcdonalds and plenty at Nanjing Road Shopping Street.||||The service from the hotel staff was okay, I guess. I wouldn't say that it was excellent or so, but definitely not terrible either. Perhaps it was because that we were able to speak Mandarin so communication was not really an issue. It seems that the hotel is particularly popular with travelers from Asia as we encountered some from Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines for instance, along with occasional Westerner.||||The only drawback I find is that somehow many taxi drivers do not seem to know the hotel's location and often we have to show them the full Mandarin name of the hotel, so sometimes they have difficulty coming...

Great great great location, situated at the centre of most attractions in Shanghai. The only two places we needed to travel for about an hour by car hail is Disneyland and Zhujiajiao, everywhere else is located in close proximity. For just 5 minutes away you'll reach the start of Nanjing Rd shopping street, and there are great shops and restaurants around the hotel. The location is amazing!||Counter staff were friendly and helpful, our requests for a baby cot, more water bottles, and tissue packs were quickly provided without additional fees. We were travelling with a 4 year old and a baby so these additional necessities are essential to us.||The room is clean but old, interior design seems to be stuck in the 80s/90s. Housekeeping was good, room slippers are of high quality and are refilled as soon as we use it. The greatest part of the stay is the availability of a refrigerator and a 2-in-1 washer+dryer. As a family with 2 kids we had a lot of laundry to clean daily and this is a huge plus point for us. Room is spacious and comfortable, the toilet seat is warm and on colder days this makes it a lot comfortable for users.||We didn't opt for breakfasts so no comments on that, but everything else is amazing. If you're visiting Shanghai as a family this is undoubtedly the best lodging you could find with the highest value. The only downside is the old and aged amenities but the convenience outweighs everything. TV is about 32 inch so if you're a couch potato this may not be the best experience. Plenty of powerpoints, and a microwave oven is available to heat up whatever takeaways you bring back. Frying pan, utensils and cutleries are available and very clean. The kettle in our room looks new and there are several trash bins around. There's also a bathtub which we'd rather not have due to the inconvenience of showering the kids, but this is subject to individual preference and does not affect us greatly.||If we're visiting Shanghai again this will be our...

The room is decent, clean, and offers decent amenities, family room is only have one room and another bed is in the living room which is a sofa bed, full kitchen with pan, plates and other utensils. Washing machine is available which contains dryer capability, microwave and fridge, no complaints about the room. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The location of the apartment is about 500m away from MRT station, which is ok. The apartment is right next to the Marriott hotel. The 黄河路 is about 300m away from the apartment which has a lot of restaurants. There is also a Family Mart convenient store in the same building as the apartment, within 100m from the entrance. The apartment offers buffet breakfast, a variety of breads (sandwich, mixed grains, croissant, donuts, dinner roll, cup cake, danishes), fruits (banana, water melon, white flesh dragon fruit, rock melon), steamed food such as dumplings, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, cake, etc. Porridge, fried noodles, sausages, fried egg, bacon, stir fry vegetables, boiled egg, fruit tea, flower tea, coffee, black tea, hot milk, cereal (3 types), dried fruits (cranberries, banana chips, kiwi, plum), oat, salad bar (3 types of leafy greens), kidney beans, onion, sweet corn kernel, cucumber, carrot, cheddar cheese, yogurts, Natto, noodle station (clear soup noodles, mini dumplings, Japanese Char Siu, braised beancurd skin, orange juice, grape juice. The staff named Rita, she is very helpful person, giving us more than what the restaurant is offering, as we were there during 端午节 the Dragon Boat festival, she gave us 6 pieces of glutinous rice dumplings and two 桂花糕. The apartment lobby has two rest areas, with some Chinese books and also coffee machines for the guest, there is also a foosball table available. There is a food locker that is specifically for 美团外卖 which the food can be delivered to the lobby, then lock inside the locker, so you can go to lobby to collect the food after scan the QRcode.

1. Cleanliness: The hotel maintains a spotless and well-kept environment, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay. All areas, including both the rooms and common spaces, are impeccably cleaned. Our room was cleaned daily, and fresh towels were provided each time. 2. Room Quality (room type - Family Room Premier): The room facilities are excellent and spacious. We comfortably stayed three people in one room with a double bed and a sofa bed. The Japanese toilet was a pleasant surprise and added to the overall comfort. However, it would be even better if the hotel could add one more mirror for makeup purposes (this is my personal problem), though the bathroom mirror was large enough. 3. Location: The hotel is ideally located just a 3-minute walk from People’s Square subway station, making it a great base for exploring the local area. 4. Staff: The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. They made us feel welcomed throughout our stay. The receptionists speak good English, and the porters were particularly kind and helpful. 5. Lovely Touches: You can request additional bottles of water by calling the receptionist, specifying the number of bottles you need (just the right amount—not too many). Additionally, special discounts at nearby stores are available, and these are listed in the brochure in your room.

Before booking this place, I struggled to find reviews from Thai travelers, which made me a bit concerned about whether it would be a good choice. However, after staying here, I was pleasantly surprised—it exceeded my expectations and was absolutely worth the price! First of all, the hotel smells amazing from the moment you walk in, and there’s absolutely no cigarette smell anywhere. The room itself is very spacious, with a well-defined layout, including a kitchen area equipped with real cooking utensils, making it possible to prepare meals comfortably. The room was spotless, the bed was soft, and all necessary amenities were provided, including an iron and other essential appliances. Plus, the view from the room was beautiful! Considering the price, this place is an excellent choice. One of the biggest highlights for me was the bidet in the bathroom, which is rare in Shanghai hotels based on the reviews I’ve seen. That was a pleasant surprise! The location is also a big plus—it’s not far from The Bund, and you can easily walk to Nanjing Road. I’ll definitely stay here again!
