Xiao Dadong (Nanjing West Rd Branch) — Restaurant in Shanghai

We first dined at Xiao Dadong when we visited Beijing many years ago, and were pleasantly surprised when we found this branch located in the mall next to our hotel.

We enjoyed the food so much that we came back three times in a week.

The sliced duck was delish with the pancakes, and with a little sugar. We also liked the prawn balls and special grilled pork neck, as well as the stir fried vegetables such as brocolli or okra/lady fingers.

We also came back to try the dong po pork, which was braised until almost creamy and went well with plain rice.

I have been a customer of their Michelin star Dadong in Beijing for 15 years.

Little Dadong aims to serve the same quality food with less frills but they maintained the superb quality of their Beijing duck.

I am once again impressed by the quality of their duck and reaffirmed they are the best Beijing Roast duck in all of China.
