I recently found myself enjoying an extended stay at the All Seasons Hotel in Shanghai, and I must admit, my experience has been nothing short of delightful — 100% satisfaction, to be precise! Today marks the beginning of my journey to Suzhou, followed by a brief sojourn in Hangzhou in the coming days. Even when I return to Shanghai after my escapade in Hong Kong, I have every intention of choosing this hotel once again.
What truly sets this establishment apart is its remarkably amiable staff, who seem to possess an encyclopedic knowledge about the place — ready to answer nearly any inquiry you might have. And let’s not forget the complimentary breakfast; it’s a veritable cornucopia of options! From fluffy pastries to savory delights, it feels like a banquet fit for royalty.
Now, let's talk about the air conditioning. It’s as if it was designed by a team of Arctic explorers — it’s powerful enough to turn your room into a veritable ice palace! I simply set it to a crisp 20 degrees Celsius, and voilà! But here's the quirky catch: each time I enter my room, I have to play a little game of “insert the card” into the control slot before adjusting the temperature. Sure, it’s a tad inconvenient, but it does address some of the less-than-flattering reviews this hotel has garnered over time.
Upon arrival, guests are greeted not just by friendly faces but also by a robot that expertly guides you to your room. Yes, you heard that right — a robot! Talk about living in the future! It’s an astonishing touch that adds a dash of whimsy to the otherwise mundane check-in process.
As for amenities, they don't skimp on the details. You’ll find complimentary bottled water, a charming tea set, and a whopping 72-inch television that can easily swallow you whole in terms of entertainment options. They even provide a comb, toothbrush, and toothpaste — because who doesn’t appreciate a little pampering during their travels?
The gym? Well, let’s just say it’s rather basic — think of it as a minimalist's paradise with only a few treadmills. However, they make up for it with a laundry room that comes equipped with washers and dryers at no extra charge. If you're feeling particularly lazy (or simply don’t want to lug around your dirty clothes), they’ll even deliver your freshly laundered items straight to your father’s room — now that’s service with a smile!
Speaking of smiles, the housekeeping staff is genuinely cheerful. Every time I pass their cleaning cart, I'm met with enthusiastic greetings and offers for extra towels, toothbrushes, hand towels, or bottled water. It’s as if they’re running a friendly little corner store right in the hallway!
In conclusion, staying at the All Seasons Hotel has been a truly wonderful experience filled with delightful surprises and exceptional service. It’s not just a place to rest your head; it's an adventure in hospitality! So if you ever find yourself in Shanghai — or anywhere near — I wholeheartedly recommend making this gem your home away from home. After all, who wouldn’t want to be treated like royalty while enjoying the comforts of...
Read moreLet’s start with the bad before going into the good and ok:We had an issue with the cleaning staff throwing our things away - this included things like the sleeping nose strips, face mask packets, and the last straw was our contact lens cleaner. While these items seemed like trash to the cleaner, these were important things that we needed on our trip that we could not purchase in China. While we don’t believe it is a case of theft, we absolutely could not understand why the staff would make the decision on what is or is not trash, and throw them away when the items were on the desk and not at the dustbin. The story by the cleaning staff had flipped multiple times, where she said she didn’t throw our items, the next moment saying she never seen the item before, and then after that saying she only throw things in the trash and won’t touch anything else. After a whole morning of speaking and arguing with the cleaning staff, the manager of the cleaning staff (who tried to protect her staff so hard), and the hotel manager who tried his best to resolve it, we left as we had to catch our flight. While these items were of low monetary value, these are things that we needed daily, without which would affect our lives. My take is - stay at your own risk, and if you do stay here, lock all your items in your pouches and bags. Things left on the bedside table could be thrown away, since the cleaner was making the judgment call to do so. Location is amazing - it’s right above Tiantong Road Station, which is an interchange. Very convenient getting to Shanghai station (for intercity travel) and the main tourist areas.Room is very warm during the winter months. Central heating and temperature cannot be adjusted. Temperature went up to 29 degrees Celsius. We mentioned to the staff the first night and they told us to open the windows which we did, and then it got so hot to the point we had to ask for a fan (which they were initially not the most willing to give, asking us to turn the heating off, open the windows, asking us how long we have turned everything off for). In the end, it was resolved so this was ok. What would otherwise have been a perfect stay for a week long trip in Shanghai, was made extremely frustrating and unpleasant when we found out my things were thrown away. While the staff can argue and say that they were trained in Hong Kong, they have years of experience etc., such edge cases doesn’t equal per training, but boils down to the individual. I hope Ji Hotel does something to correct the behaviour of that particular cleaning staff and the cleaning...
Read moreThe staffs are super super super nice and supportive. We’ve been supported a lot during our 3-day stay at this hotel as my mom got sick and had to go to hospital. A male staff (sorryyy I forgot to ask your name 😭) even gave me his personal coat at night just because the hospital didn’t have blanket for my mom. And many other small things (order food on behalf of us cuz we didnt have Weixin, gave podridge and eggs for free 🥹 etc). I was very touched by the hospitality and kindness of the people here 🥹P/S: hotel eposition is very convenient as there’s a metro gate line 10 right next door! Close to hospital, pharmacy, the bund, nanjing road. Rooms are clean and comfortable also 😊 Highly highly highly...
