This is the only time I'll start with the cons before the pros because the cons here are negligible but important to know and I'm afraid you'll skip it if you read the pros first.
The only negative about this hotel is that it is hard to find (at first), even for taxi drivers. It is located in the heart of Dongmen shopping district (great area for shopping), which is quite busy and crowded area so make sure you call the hotel and have them talk to the taxi driver and explain to him how to get there because I can almost guarantee you he will not know how to get there and he will drop you nearby and point randomly making you think it's right there. I walked for over 30 minutes dragging my luggage seeking help of police officers before I found it the first time. At the hotel they have cards specifically made to show taxi drivers for directions.
The positive points now. Very clean and modern looking lobby that puts you at ease as soon as you step in. My room was quite small and had no windows. Clean sheets and clean new towels. The bathroom was clean with no weird odors as it is usually the case in Chinese budget hotels. Comfortable mattress and pillows. Great WiFi connection. The choice of food at breakfast is quite limited and it is always the same but I do not regret it.
Only 10 to 15 minutes by taxi from SEG electronic market and less than 10 minutes from Lo Wu border crossing to Hong Kong.
Finally, great price so for me it is a definite repeat when I go back...

Read moreA surprise little gem of a place of stay. The location is very good for what i need, its reachable from both laojie and shaibu station. Shaibu is tricky from luowu station so walk from laojie is pretty straight forward for me. There are a lot of discounts shops and wholesale prices shops around and be prepare to haggle. Finding food is easy from here. The hotel is fairly clean for me, surprisingly there is a washing self service, the minimalist of a reception is good enough for me. They supplied coffee too The hotel is on the 4 floor and there is another on the 3rd floor. My friend found the pillow smelt of cigarettes and they were happy to swap room although I found its ok. The room we had was ensuite and comfortable, and the staff is helpful 90% of the time. The only time i was let down was i ask the receptionist to show me how to use an app to book a taxi and she said to go downstairs to wave one, how ever that was not the case, i had to ask another shop keeper to help. I would recommend stay for this hotel, dont let the price put you off. Its a value for money and i would...
